My cabbages are growing again! They really are Savoys of the super hero variety :rotfl: It seems the caterpillars have ceased their rampage of destruction and the cabbages are making a comeback. The hearts have started growing back so I may get a harvest after all.
Other hopeful MS news:- it looks as though I will have a couple more courgettes to harvest too
- got a letter from the Financia1 0mbud$man $£rvic£ asking for more information about Mr F's job when he was in the army. I gave them a call to find out what details they wanted to know. It seems that there was a clause in the MPI which meant the policy wouldn't pay out if death and injury occurred as a result of war. Mr F could have been deployed to a war zone at any time during the term of the insurance so maybe we have a chance of getting some compensation after all
- called the alarm company and have all the information we need now. Just a case of paying up  I'm trying to save some more money so the dent in the savings doesn't look too dreadful
- finished the first boat painting. Very pleased with the way the sea came out and with the proportions of the boat. Think I may have placed the boat too far out in the sea though - what do all you art critics think?
- Spinach, Tomato & Marscapone Gnocchi from the meal plan for supper last night
Happy hump day all

Thank you everyone - that's very kind. I feel more confident about presenting it now. I did a little extra work on it today to soften the line of the keel. The boat now looks more as though it is sitting in the water rather than sitting on it which is what I was worried about.

Hello Karmacat. I mis-read your diary originally and thought you were closing it January next year. Now I've realised it closed January this yearSo I'm really glad you popped in as we'll have a chance to be friends after all.
Thank you for your thoughts on the painting. It's my new venture and I'm boring everyone silly with it. I usually just put links in now so that people can give them a stiff ignoring if they want but this one is a commission and so not in my Folksy shop.
Look forward to swopping posts.

Thank you XS - I really appreciate the feedback. Being quite new to all this I'm still quite nervous about showing my paintings and this particular one is a commission so very scary. The Bouquet Garni does seem to be popular - but I do hope my destiny doesn't lie in curly parsley, it is surely the nemesis of all artists :rotfl:Love love love the boat picture

Hi Beanie - thank you so much. I know you to be a poster who doesn't waste words so 3 'loves' means a lot
My round courgette plant is putting on a spurt now. It aborted its flowers all through the Spring and Summer but seems to be getting a wriggle on now it's getting cooler. I might end up getting 2 or 3 this yearLast year I had so many normal courgettes I was giving them away!
