Want A Discount On You're Orange Phone Contract?

I got a text the other week from Orange about a best plan...
No wonder...
My previous bills have been.
£45
£52
£49
£62
£98
My bill is supposed to be £35, thats before the VAT was increased by Orange back in November 2011...
My bill just seems to be growing & growing, and its safe to say as soon as I can get out of this contract I will be, the smallest increase to my bill seems to add £10 on...
So I rang Orange to enquire about this best plan.
My current contract is for 24 months, with the iPhone 4 I took it out in April 2011 I had to pay £100 - £200 for the 16gb Phone, and the contract included 500mb of data, 600 mins and unlimited texts.
I use about 350mb, 100 - 200 mins and around 2,000 texts so I wanted to reduce my mins to get a discount perhaps from this 'Best Plan'
The lady on the phone offered me various options but none of them met my entire needs, all of them included a discount so I was sure in for a good deal here...
In the end she rang me back and offered me a 15% discount on all of my bills from here on out.
Not bad for a 5 min phone call.
I dont know if this has been posted before, but I would say to everyone Orange customers or not to look at there bill and to see if you are making the most of the service services you signed up to in you're contract, if not ring you provider and ask about a better plan.
Hope this helps someone!

If you use less than the inclusive amounts then your bill should be £35 per month????0 -
The upgrade in VAT means I pay 20% VAT on top of everything.
Because they never did the direct debit that I was trying to set up for the best part of 14 months I have been charged £3 a month.
Non-Inclusive texts... apparently, I message people from my contacts list & thats it.
Non-Inclusive calls... again... apparently...
But then 20% on top of say a £40 bill (Based on going £5 over) = £8 of VAT a total of £48 and therefore £13 more than I ever planned to pay.0 -
If they dont set up the direct debit thats their problem - ask for a refund.
VAT would have been 17.5% when you took out the contract and £35 would have included VAT at this rate, so it should only have gone from £35 to £35.74
when VAT went to 20%.
Non-inclusive calls - 0845/0870?
non-inclusive texts - competitions etc?
have you checked your online account to get the details of which calls and texts are being charged for?0 -
I think the refund will be more hassle than its worth?
Dont you think?
No 0845 ect... or Competitions...
Doesnt tell you who you text, or who you rang without going through 30+ pages of calls & texts that is.
& no the VAT is ontop of everything...0 -
but you can order them by cost so you can see which numbers you are being charged for easily.
As for a refund - its your money so its up to you. I've always managed to get any undue charges refunded from Orange without too much trouble although one exception took a few calls.0 -
Hmm... May have a go at the refund, 12 months of £3 is £36 more than I had...0
-
exactly - worse than can happen is they say no.
as for the extra ~£10 a month - I'd be questioning that too.0 -
Nah, they were having none of it, because I had been ringing up and paying, but I set up a direct debit when I took out the phone but they never did it because the system was down.0
