Small crack on inside plastic at bottom of landlords fridge....

Are they likely to try to charge me for a new fridge/freezer???

Never had a rental property so I don't really know how well they check everything but my initial thought was put a well placed carton of milk in the fridge over the crack and hope the guy doing the inspection does not look underneath. If they asks why the fridge is not empty offer them a cup of tea0

Perhaps, but you could argue it was fair wear and tear - fridges don't stay perfect forever even with reasonable care.Solar install June 2022, Bath

The usual practice is to do the check out inventory when the property is empty.
OP, Have you tried googling for a replacement part for the fridge?
If you have the manufacturer's booklet there is often a number to call for replacement parts.
I cracked the lower shelf on the inside of the door and got a replacement part really quickly.0 -

Don't think that is a goer.
The crack is in the inside shell of the fridge.

OK so replacing part isn't an option.
As someone has said this could be seen as fair wear and tear but for the fact you dropped a can on it!
So options are:
1. Hope they ignore it.
2. Deducting from your deposit.
The good news is that they can't charge you for a new fridge - this would be seen as betterment. So they will consider how old it is, how long a fridge's life span is and charge proportionately.
To be honest, this is a difficult one because the fridge is still in working order so they could take the money and still not replace it!
