After following good advice on this forum I have now seen a mobile phone I would like to buy on line. It is SIM free. I have an old Nokia phone at present with an Orange SIM and I have always been with Orange PAYG. Orange do not have the phone I have chosen from the internet. Can I take the SIM out of my Nokia Orange PAYG and put it into the new mobile phone - a Doro - chosen because I have a hearing problem?
Please excuse my ignorance but, if this is possible, do I have the same mobile telephone number or do I need to arrange a new one? I think I will have to manually transfer my numbers over but I'm hoping to ask for help from a young 'technically much better than me' family member.
If I don't have the same mobile telephone number - how do I go about getting another one for the new phone, please?
I'll be really glad of your replies, thank you.

If the phone is SIM free and unlocked it means it will work on any network. Taking your working Orange PAYG SIM and put it in the new phone and off you go.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

As spiro says, put the SIM from your old phone into the new one and everything will be fine - same phone number, same network, same service and same monthly payment will just carry on as normal. You should be able to transfer all your old stored numbers onto the SIM card before you transfer it, which will move them to your new phone with the SIM.There's love in this world for everyone. The numbers *may* be on the sim or they may be on the phone.
