Olympic themed cake ideas ?

Hello again

We've decided on the cake: 3 podia - gold/silver/bronze. Torch on #1 position, medals on ribbons wound around the 3 cakes.
I was wondering if I could ask for some more ideas from you please ? We're struggling to come up with an idea for the base for them to go on. The cakes themselves will be gold, silver or bronze, so we're thinking that if we wrap the big bit of ply in aluminium foil, the silver will detract from the silver cake.
We're allowed to use our reprographics dept to print out a huge sheet of paper & then laminate so theoretically could have any image we wanted on there. Any ideas ?"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -

You could do sand or grass, using desiccated/shredded coconut dyed with food colouring - yellow or green. I think the podium is usually set up in the stadium near the track, isn't it? Or is that just for the athletics...0 -
Track coloured (so that brick colour) in an oval with white athletics track markings around the side?
Or, depending on how bored you are - google up all the flags of the competing countries and put them going around the edge sticking outward kind of like how the rays of a sun go on a child's drawing?Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
