I hope things go well for you and know you probably dread it but I found the more nervous I was the better things went. Once got told I was being taped with only 15 mins notice and that two other members of my course had been sent home the day before and were not coming back. I went to the ladies room and was violently sick with fright, did the interview thinking I was going to be thrown off the training course etc - then got told I was coming back for the second half as I had got through.

DDs are off to work but youngest is home preparing for holiday abroad with lots of schoolfriends next week.

Blue sky and some sun with white fluffy clouds - so different from the grey, windy, soggy and dreary days we have had over the last week or so.

Can hear DH in garden so going to go downstairs and offer breakfast for us all with huge pot of tea.

DD helped me prepare a chicken curry last night and took notes
bless her. Felt a bit of a cheat as I used a jar of green curry sauce with a can of coconut milk with sliced onions, mushrooms, mange toute, baby corn and chicken thighs. She hated the feel of the chicken as she chopped some of it so I pointed out she could use quorn instead.

The advice on here to let her help with favourite dishes and keep it low key really worked.

Market day so want to go and get free range eggs later and pop into library. Will explore freezer before I go out and see if there is mince in there. If not then will use quorn mince and make a spag bol with lots of tomatoes, onions , mushrooms and grated carrot. Might put some of the bolognese into individual pottery dishes and top with mash for anyone not fancying pasta.

Some curry left from last night so might offer that with nan bread for lunch. Now DH is home all day he really appreciates a warm homemade meal around noon whether it is a la leftovers or not.

Funny thing is that the more homecooked food he eats the more weight he seems to lose because of all the gardening he is doing.

    Hugs to all.

    Morning all,

bright and sunny here today too in fact ive just done a few jobs in the garden.... grass was a bit wet though.

I should have done the bedding today instead of yesterday as ive got a feeling its going to be a lovely warm sunny day.

I'm full of aches and pains as well as a few moans thrown in for good measure so today i will make a point of counting my blessings and maybe tonight when i go to bed i will be in a better mood than when i got up.

Hugs to all of you who are suffering with ailments at the moment and hoping the day isnt too stressful for those of you who are at work.

elona that's brilliant and let's be honest she might not always have time/be bothered to make sauce from scratch and it's easy to get wrong and be put off

    Well good morning all!
Last day of OU work today, I'm so not used to essays and... biology... animals  so it's taking forever but at least it's just plain old physics after this module. WM and DW will go on and maybe deep clean the floors, bottle more elderflower champagne and go for a walk if I have time. No idea about dinner, might dive into the freezer.

Raining in Cornwall but can't complain as the view is breathtaking whatever the weather.

I have had a very relaxing and peaceful holiday. The kids have managed well so pleased that they can do it.

OS - just made bread and butter pudding to use up bread, milk and eggs as we start travelling back tomorrow. Hugs x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Hi chums well sun is still shinging at the moment and I managed to get Mikey's blankey washed and dried so I will unpicjk the unravelled bit and re-knit the squares up.Its sewn on to a cotton backing of clown material so I have to be careful not to undo too much I will do a square at a time .I have two tray bakes in the oven at the moment they will be done shortly as I promised Mikey some more if he brought his swimming hat and goggles home from school (he keeps forgetting them )Their school have their own swimming pool where all the juniors learn to swim as soon as they are into year 4.great idea and all of the boys have learned at school.Right I'd better nip off and check my baking .Do try to get the book I am reading its really very good and could almost be this forum written 80 years ago

  • Molly I love Cornwall too, enjoy the rest of your stay x

3 loads of washing done and on the lines and another in the machine at the moment :j It is great to be able to use the lines again.

Curry using leftover chicken from yesterday for dinner. DH has a late night tonight because of parent evening so he won't be home until 9pm so we will all eat at 3.30pm. Then the evening is mine :D

    Hello all.

Moorhen I hope the filmed lesson went well - I'm assuming you'll have done it by now.:o

When I worked for the Valuation Office, many moons ago, we had a time'n'motion chappie come to observe us, and I told the boss straight out to dump him on someone else, because if I'm being watched, I get very nervous, and so take longer to do tasks, and make more errors - so observing me would not actually give an accurate assessment of my abilities!

Even now, if Mr LW is hovering to take the dinner plates through to the lounge (where we eat) while I'm dishing up, I tell him to go away and I'll call him when they're ready, because if he watches me, I get very shaky, and am therefore bound to drop something.:(

Wow - sunshine today - I even had to wear a hat for Dilly's walkies, to keep the sun off my head!:D

I ordered it from Amazon this morning - thanks Jackie, it looks really interesting!

Went "allotment shopping" again last night - only a couple of courgettes, a cucumber and some raspberries though...picked a big bag of chard the other night which we're slowly working through!
