Dont look for cheap tyres ... look for good tyres on sale cheaply ... Take time and read tyre reviews as all tyres are different. I have a 3 year old diesel golf and befor I bought it previous owner had fitted cheap tyres on the front .. great in the dry, but as soon as it rained the traction control was always kicking in and it felt very unsure on corners .... spend a reasonable amount of money on tyres or you will end up regreting it.

Ok 2 years on is there a tyre comparison website that finds the cheapest price?

If not where is the cheapest place to buy tyres that does fitting as well?

What are the latest hot offers at the moment?

Tyre prices vary from one day to the next. So a price comparison site will have to be manned 24/7 with a fairly large team.

My local tyre shop has a basic website just an address and a phone number and they beat the online prices on my tyres.

Where is the cheapest place will depend on that days price and stock and the actual brand.

What tyres did you buy last time that only lasted 2 years?

They don't seem to be cheaper than the big players out there.

You've probably found the best price yourself then, if you can match them.

As mentioned, sooooo many tyre makes and prices.

If you look at most tyre websites, you get a list of all their makes and prices, just by entering your registration.

They will price beat and give you 10% of difference, if you do want to check all competition.

Go for a brand you've heard of, avoid lesser known cheap makes as they will wear faster, be noisey, uncofomfortable, less grip etc etc.

Part worn, well as mentioned, differing opinions, but I have bought in the past, with no problems.

Not entirely sure I agree with that. Sticky tyres work best and wear fastest. The cheap stuff can last for ages. I've killed an expensive rear tyre on bike in under 1000 miles, on the road. They're lucky to last an entire day on a track.
