Very true, this has barely even had a watcher in the 5-6 times it has been listed so would almost certainly have gone for 99p and frankly for the hassle of wrapping and packing it I would rather have donated it to a charity shop.
This time it had no watchers (it did have 2 on the 2nd or 3rd time i listed it) and only had 9 page views as well.
It just takes 2 people to want the same item - and it can go even higher than what others have it priced on buy-it-now.
I have loads of small items i want to sell - but i've been putting it off. It never seemed worth the hassle. I was going to start them at 99p - but then the postage went and doubled for small items - and i'm not sure it is worth the hassle now. People will just bid less. Wish i'd known sooner about the increase.
Might be worth selling a few together i suppose - but i'm also thinking charity shop.0 -
given up on selling anything i think may actually go for 99p nowadays. used to sell loads. agree as above just not worth hassle, by the time ebay and paypal have taken their whack, i have zero profit if i factor in cost it takes me to list/post etc.0

I'm the same now, its just not worth the hassle. At one time I would literally sell anything that wasn't nailed down (total obsessive minimalist!). I would list it twice and if it hadn't sold on the second attempt, off to the Charity Shop it would go (or Freecycle).
Now I only sell what is actually worth selling, maybe £5.00 or above as its just not worth it with all the fees, plus the fact we live in a Village which had its Post Office closed a couple of years, and with only having one car, which partner has to travel to work, its just too much hard work. I do use couriers for larger items, but finding myself at the "fed up with Ebay" stage again - for selling anyway.St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”0
