    Another mortgage!!!! Flippin eck :rotfl:

I am just going to get away with the female insurance hike because my renewal is at the beginning of December as I took out a 10 month NCD booster policy this year as I only passed my test June 2011 and had a lil accident last October..

Am hoping to do this same this year too as it worked out cheaper for me than a 12month one too.

I am 28 now though so my age helps a little even though I have only been driving 16 months.

The 10 months booster policies are great, I've taken one out every renewal and it really helps. My policy was only renewed in August though. I just really hope that it doesn't increase it hugely as I still count as a very young irresponsible driver accoding to statistics. My car is only little but I would begrudge paying any more than I already do, it was outrageous when I first passed. To date I've spent more on insurance than I paid for my car, and if it increases by much it'll probably be more than it's worth. I'm glad you'll get yours before the prices go up!

I done a load of washing today, but it's raining outside (and was nowing yesterday!). Half of it can't be tumble dried and I don't want to tumble dry the things that can be because of the gold plated electricity prices. I've got it shrewn around the house on radiator racks and hangers, although the radiators are off.

Which has prompted me to buy a new radiator airer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160902218982

It will mean I can fit a full load of washing on various ones. I've also ordered a couple of interior dehumidifiers for our BTL house. We've just had some plastering done on a ceiling that fell down, and have just noticed some cracks on the landing ceiling. Its been empty for 6 months with the heating only on now and then so I've set it on low 24hrs a day and am hoping with that an the dehumidifiers will help a little, or at least stop any more damage from it being empty! (It's not as bad as it sounds, honest!)

Tripe Nectar points on eBay too, and because you can register you card to link with your account I also got to go trough Quidco. Will be great if we can get both!

I've only to watch a couple more ads to reach my 250 nectar point limit this week on adpoints. :)

    Hi Beckyy,

I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing you're looking for but IF.com have an isaver savings account within which you designate individual 'jars' named as you see fit. It is not the best savings interest rate but it has been a great help for us with budgetting. After doing the Budget Planner we then knew what we needed each month and I have 'jars' for car tax, christmas, birthdays, tv licence, etc. The account is all online and faster payments go out overnight i.e. I'll request payment today, it's in my bank tomorrow. It may be worth you taking a look.

    All the best,
    Spigs

Thanks Spigs, I only just spotted your post. I'll make sure I check it out, sounds like something I could do with!!

I've just made my last OP for the month. £6.98 from cheques for 'Try Me For Free' foods. Have checked the balance and it's now £98,830.45. Its great to see it dropping a figure in the thousand column each month. Will update on the MFW thread today.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make my OP aim next month as we HAVE to get BTL property sorted and let out, which means I need to pay for everything that's left to get done and also the possibility of a washer drier for it too. Im going there today to carry on with the dedecorating, fingers crossed we can get it sorted soon as we are having to pay council tax for it again now.

Another week of Nectar Adpoints completed - I've really noticed my points balance go up and have got 1000 points from them so far.

Our electricity DD has just been increased from £38 to around £50 per month. It's outrageous, but I've had a look on the switching websites and apparently we are on the cheapest deal. I can't really get my head around all the tariffs so as we've already switched I think I'll just grit my teeth and put up with it.
  • Hi Beckyy,

Just been reading through your diary and wanted to say thanks for that ebay link for the airer, looks brilliant, I am going to get one myself as have to dry all my clothes indoors. Just need to sell something on ebay first to justify the purchase. ;-))

Thanks lilmissup, it's crazy how expensive it is isn't it? Especially when it's exactly the same no matter which company you get it from!

GreenNinja, it arrived today! It was a bit of a pain to get onto the radiator and I muttered a few profanities in the process! I've not put my first load on yet but it's going to be really helpful to be able to hang things on, especially shirts. :) I do think £16.99 that I paid from that seller is steep for what it is as you can buy the little racks for a few pound now, however I did see another seller with them at £30+, they'd be so lucky!

I had to get a second course of antibiotics for the dog yesterday, so that's another £100. Had to take it from here and there as my pots aren't estabished enough yet!

Also paid the TV license yesterday, again from here and there (as above).

Picked out a couple of little Christmas presents this morning, hopefully will order them in the next few days.

First load of washing for the day is done, but the sun (just) so it's out on the line instead of testing my new airer! Second load is in and bed is stripped.

Didn't make it to BTL yesterday so HAVE to go over today and do some more work.

I'm thinking about applying for a 2nd job...

I was on the jobcentreplus website out of curiousity and came across a job posted yesterday for somebody wanting a cleaner for a few hours a week, flexible. It would be an extra £150+ a month.

The only annoying thing is that I already work shifts and wouldn't want to mess somebody around by changing days etc.

Some areas of work are grating a little bit at the moment and it's putting me off taking on extra shifts - which is where I get most of my money. Something like this would mean a bit of extra income and a change of scenery. Definitely one to think about, although I think I'd have to act quickly as it's a good vacany. Hmm...
