Had to book a haircut for today at a salon as the local college is closed for Summer so that'll set me back around £30.
Still waiting for the mortgage valuation to come back, fingers crossed as it should be through today.
OH and I are intended to get a tattoo each tomorrow, will be my first so I'm a little nervous and need to make sure I'm 100% happpy with the design. It's not a big one, but still :P
Between OH's birthday and the tattoos that will be most of our spare money this month so there won't be a lot OP'd but that okay for now, once the remortgage has gone through I can sit down, rebudget and crunch some numbers.
ETA: Just had an email to say I'll be rested from the RM Surveys in a couple of weeks. Part of me will miss them, but they were awkward some times and I have plenty of stamps saved up now.0 -
£1.51 Qmee cashed out - will OP when recieve and do a full update tomorrow!0

Proper update now then:
OH loved his birthday present - said I should have got something cheaper, but he's very happy with it
We both got our tattoos done, it was a very long day with lots of travelling. OHs looks beautiful and I wish I'd had the same artist as his. I had an idea of the design I wanted and some material and my artist did a very good job of it, but he did it in his style which in all honesty wasn't really what I wanted. Hindsight is a beautiful thing! I don't dislike it, I'm just a bit dissapointed that it's not 100% what I had in my head which isn't helping me feel better about my slightly swollen foot at the moment!
The mortgage valuation came back on BTL as spot on what we needed which is great. Providing the solicitor gets into gear the remortgage should hopefully be all finished by the end of the month. We've seen another potential BTL which I'm going to book a viewing for this week hopefully0 -
Was supposed to be having a new smart meter fitted by BG today with a 9-2 timeslot. Waited in only to get a phonecall at 11 to say their stock hadn't come in and they wouldn't be able to do it - nice waste of a morning!
Am off to view a potential BTL this afternoon - fingers crossed! It sounds very promising so far.
All is going well with BTL remortgage, should hopefully be done and dusted very soon if everything goes to plan!0 -
The viewing for potential BTL went well, house is nice - am just waiting to hear back from EA about 2nd viewing so that OH can see.
Am watching some jeans and linen trousers on eBay - fancy some new clothes without the price tag!
It seems like a long way off before payday this month and as we've spent so much lately I don't think we'll be doing alot of OPing - or anything for that matter in the next couple of weeks.0 -
Viewing for potential BTL went well. Just waiting to hear back about a 2nd viewing so that OH can see it.
BTL remortgage is going fine, just waiting for the underwriters to approve it so that the solicitor can get cracking with the paperwork.
Protected our new tenant's deposit today - another thing ticked off the list.
Just reading the MSE article about mortgage fixing. Our BTL remortage will be a 5 year fix at 3.99% which is lower than our own mortgage. The idea of it was to save us the fees of remortgaging every few years. Our own fix still has a year to run so I think we'll be spreading money between savings and OPs to help get a better itnerest rate when we remortgage next year.0 -
Today I'm waiting waiting waiting.
Waiting to hear back from mortgage advisor about whether teh underwriters have looked at our file.
Waiting for EA to call back about 2nd viewing on house.
Waiting for paday!
I've been to Sainsburys today, a treat as it's quite a drive there. Got some nice things and have meal planned for the next week ish. have scanned everything with Sh&Sc.
Had a big parcel of RM test items arrive today - they're obviously getting their moneys worth for my last couple of weeks on the panel!
Have been thinking about how to work our spare money once BTL(s) are sorted. We need to OP our own mortgage as we don't have a much equity (current LTV would be 78%) and our fix is up next May so we need to pay it down to get a half decent rate on a remortgage.
We also need to save some money as a backup as we have next to none at the moment, which is a bit dangerous.
I would like to save up for a new car for a few years time, mine has over 100K on the clock and will likely onl last a few more years at the rate I'm using it. OH shoudl be trading his car in soon so I can start to save for mine after then.
I think 2/3 of our spare money should go towards OPing our own mortgage and the remining 1/3 should go into savings - some towards new car but haven't decided how much yet. I think this will be for the next year until we remortgage our current house and can then rework the figures with a (hopefully) much lower interest rate!0 -
Found out the money had come through for a VO survey which I thought they weren't going to pay for (it froze at the end) so I cashed out £10 voucher and have just used it towards a birthday present on amazon and have OP'd £10 from the present fund. Chuffed with that0

Just found out remortgage application has been approved, wooooooooo.
Am just (not so) patiently waiting for the postman for the offer of loan - the dog thinks I'm nuts.
Have quite a busy day and have wasted the morning faffing about on the computer so need to get some stuff done around the house!
Made Jamie Oivers Thai Chicken Laska last night from 15min meals book (I had halloumi instead of chicken, yum!). Have a couple of portions left so had some for lunch and some for tomorrows is left.
Quidco payment on the way - will OP when it's through!
Today I need to:
- Walk dog
- Put the crazy jenga-style pile of dishes away
- Clean the bathroom
- Vax the livingroom carpet0 -
Making lasagne today, some for dinner tonight and some for the freezer. Will make the food budget go a little bit further this month and make it easier for when I'm working.
Need to pop into the solicitors about remortgage and we have the 2nd viewing booked for the potential next BTL today.
£7.56 Quidco OPd.0
