The decree absolute search people took the £60 cheque out of my account and put my reward current acc. into overdraft as I'd transfered money into savings. So I won't get my £5 reward next month and apparently it could convert back into a basic account? I'm really annoyed, they haven't refunded it yet so I'm goin to have to ring them. Am having a really busy to few so the last thing I need!:mad::mad:

I'm really annoyed at the Decree Absolute search division. They haven't refunded my cheque as they said they would, and haven't replied to the email I sent about it last week when they took the money out. Is no answer from the phone today so will call again tomorrow. Hope I manage to get the £60 back!

On the plus side I think we have found a tenant for BTL, pending references. :D

    It's been a while since I've updated!

We've had a busy couple of weeks. Family have been to visit, which was lovely but we spent way too much eating out and going places.

We've found a tenant for BTL, they've paid their holding deposit and we're just waiting for their final references to come back. The should be moving in this month, fingers crossed! I still have to get the inventory done and touch up a few small bits at the house. My time off has made me lazy and I need to get sorted asap!

The decree abolute people were useless and I have recieved the copy of it in the post, wish I'd have stopped the cheque now as I wasted £60 thanks to them not doing what they said they would. Rage.

£40 quidco cashback recieved, so have OP'd it with some odds and ends. It's not a lot but we've haven't a lot spare at the moment.

My car insurance renewal is through - much cheaper than I was expecting! Have shaved £25 off with a new quote from a sister company so need to ring and ask them to transfer it over.

DY has ground to a halt, but I need to post more reviews as I've almost enough to cash out again and I need to save the vouchers towards OH's birthday present.

    :o

Will pick up my MFW cap again very soon, have been having a busy few weeks again.

All being well tenant will be moving into BTL soon. We are intending to remortgage to do some home improvements, trade in a car and buy a 2nd BTL. Not quite sure MFW is the best place to announce I'm planning to take on another mortgage, however it's looking like we may well get a better interest rate than on our own mortgage which is nuts!

After that's done we can look for a 2nd BTL, this will mean we can then settle down into a proper long term financial plan with regards to what going in/out, and where we will be OP'ing extra money.

I'll have enough Sh&Sc points to cash in a £10 this week, and will get back on DY to try and finish off my £20 voucher.

Nectar Adpoints I've neglected for quite a few weeks but wil get at it again as I would like to boost nectar points back up and buy amazon voucher in Sainsburys towards OH's birthday present.

£3.10 Quidco recieved - just rounded to £4 and OP'd

    Hope everyone is well!

We went to see IFA today about remortgaging BTL and he found us a good looking 5 year fix. We decided to go Interest Only on the basis the interest rate is lower than our own mortgage (!) so would could use the extra money to OP our own which would be cheaper in the long run. There's a few things which need to be sorted so it will be a while yet before it's all in place but it looks promising!

Any further OPs/extra spending are gonna have to go on hold at the moment as we're gonna have a list of fees to pay and might have to add the arrangement fee onto the loan at this rate!

    £2.71 Quidco OPd.

OH's car has had to have repairs of just under £400 done and also needs a new tyre. A nightmare as we were hoping to trade it in in a few weeks once remortgage goes through. :( Going to have to watch the pennies for the rest of the month!

Just waiting for my pending points and I will be able to cash another £20 DY voucher in.

Nectar points are back above £20 so will buy an amazon voucher from Sainsburys with them.

Have cased in £10 Sh&Sc voucher.

All going towards OH's birthday present hopefully!

    It's been a hectic week!

Had to make a 120miles round journey to the bank RE: BTL remortgage as I didn't want to do it all via phone calls. Application has been made, fingers crossed it all goes to plan!

Tenant has moved into BTL woohoo! So chuffed!!

Have ordered OH's birthday present, managed to accumilate £100 of amazon voucher won't sa how much I had to add to them though :X.

£5 SO OP made. Will be back into the swing of OPing soon, especiall as the interest on our BTL should be less than our own so will need to work out a longterm plan for OPing.

    Hope everybody is well!! :D

Am just waiting for OH's birthday present to arrive, not sure where to hide it as he's awfully good at finding them and guessing what they are!

Have just paid for transport to visit some family later on in the year, £150 lighter now.

Have recieved 1st months rent from BTL - very chuffed! Feels strange not having things to do there, will maybe get a chance re discover housework at our own home now, much to OH's delight :p

BTL remortgage is in progress. Should hear back today hopefully and the next step is to have the property valued by the surveyors which is a pain as the tenant only moved in Friday and I don't want to be bugging them taking people round so soon, especially as I assume they will only survey in working hours and tenant has a 9-5 - but I have no choice really!

Have been phoning council tax and electricity this morning, and tenant is getting a new keycard sent for the electricity as there's a change in account holder - which is pointless and a pain as it renders the one there redundunt - so will have to let them know before they top it up.

I have a morning off work to potter around. I've been having a think about a 5 year plan and am not really sure how to work it. It will depend a lot on if/when we have children. OH would be happy to start a family now, but purely on a financial basis I think we need to wait a little while - but I'm not sure how long. I would keep working providing I could, so will have to do some sums. There's never going to be a perfect time, so how on earth do you decide? You can't allow for how long it might take to happen either!

Mortgage valuation is booked, and tenant is happy for me to show the surveyor arond - phew. Was very good of them considering they've only been in a few days. Just hope we get back the valuation we need!

£100 quidco cashback tracked from LL Insurance - hope they cough up!!

Have been trying to catch up on my RM surveys, have been behind on posting things and have a small pile of them in the kitchen now. Have just sorted through them and am back on track! Suprised they've not stopped me now as I've been doing it quite a few months, have enough stamps for a few Christmases now!

Have been reading advice from another thread about what to do RE: BTl mortgage and OPs and think I've settled on OPing our own and then using the BTLs purely for business at the moment, using an spare money to put towards another house. Am a little bit nervous about getting everthing right, but very excited.
