Nokia N73

Hi All,

Does anyone have the Nokia N73 and what do they think?

I have just recently got this with a 12month contract with Vodaphone and happy with the deal I've got. The phone of an excellent quality and good stlye and the 3.2mp camera is fantastic.

Unfortunately I have two problems with this phone, the amount of time it takes to send a msg. Sometimes it can take up to five minutes to send one text msg. Is there a way of speeding this up? Also there is only one game, anyone no a good website I can download games to my phone on?

There has been many problems with this phone,running slowly,crashing,turning itself off,one fix is to update the software of it, you use the usb cable supplied with the phone and update the software here, (make sure battery is charged)

What version is the firmware on your phone?

type *#0000# and it will tell you

Just wondering also whether, because it's a vodafone, they might've locked it to their own branding on the phone. Hence, the software update won't work direct.

I think though, that you can find some software (nemesis or something I think it's called) that can reset the phone's number to the original of an unbranded N73, and then install the unbranded firmware for it. However, this would invalidate the warranty...

I got an n73 on vodafone nyesterday via ebay, I updated to the latest frimware and also installed sms accelarator, all problems now fixed and it runs alof faster hope this helps

wot's this sms accellerator? Sounds useful. Not had chance to play with my n73 yet as waiting for the sim to be activated... But if I do have the problems with sending sms, this could be useful. Any links please?

It speeds up the sending of messages as there has been reports they are very slow to send. Heres the link to download it
