I hope they're not telling lots of people, someone might ring their employer anonymously, it's a sackable offence surely. ;)

    One would hope so;)
The whole family have a habit of cheating, from adultery, through benefit fraud, Ebay scams (they have been banned) and swapping around speeding points.

It is naive in the extreme to do this. It's not just a sick note to present to your gym teacher - from what I understand, the employer uses it to claim money from the tax man to pay you, so this goes on to cover tax fraud, which has serious implications.

It is a sackable offence where I work (and I imagine in most workplaces) and it is fraud. It is bound to be questioned as sassyblue says above, you normally only get signed off for 7 or 14 days so he must be looking at 17 days? Let's hope HR at his work are on the ball!

If 'someone' dobbed him in, he could lose his job and finish up in court all the for the sake of some time off work!

Not got a lot going on the brain department has he?! :D
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!

It would be lovely if karma was a reality rather than just wishful thinking.
Still, dishonest people are usually stupid as well, like the person the OP is referring to, blabbing to all and sundry about how clever they are, so it might not be that long before some disaster or other befalls them. Maybe even prompted by outsiders who take a dim view of such dishonesty.

andygb if he has been going around boasting about it to all and sundry it is unlikely that he will have a clue who dogged him in anonymously.

"HR Dept, you should check with Dr X regarding employee Y's sick line, as he has been going round boasting that it has been tampered with, through him adding a 1 in no. of weeks off."

That should start the ball rolling!

Not very bright are they? In short, yes it is illegal.

Just to make it clear, they are working (not at the moment though - covered by the certificate), and yes, they apparently put a "1" in front of the other number.

    Aha! l should be a detective. :p

    Happy moneysaving all.
