Hi Everyone:j
Thanks for starting the thread JackieO.
Thanks for all the messages of support yesterday! I'm back for day 2 of "trying again":o.
Today I have to finish shelling the broad beans (ran out of time before work yesterday), plant up my cape goosberries if the weather holds & figure out a dinner to go with left over potato salad ; yesterday was YS basic salmon fillets. But first I have to go for a blood test and later is my afternoon with my son, while he is in his explore learning class I will do the rounds of the local shops looking for xmas present bargians! And in between all that I must try & do some housework.
Have a great OS day everyone;)0 -
Morning all!
Still raining here so washing will be on the airers. Not a lot of OS for me today, last night I managed to give myself an inch long cut on the side of my hand with the lid of the loo brush, much bleeding over myself and the floor! DS had to help me put steri strips on as nobody else was home, will need to get some biggish waterproof plasters and keep it dry, not supposed to work with anything on hands so will see what its like tomorrow as I am back at work! Never a dull moment! Think it will be a visit to IK** for a cheapy plastic loo brush too!RIP Iain

I have done my weekly shop today, after sitting down to mealplan yesterday. I just want to say a big THANK YOU for all the inspiration I've found on this board in such a short time - my shop this week was a huge £40 less than last week's, and I don't feel I've got any less for my money either! I'm sure that I can shave my bill much further - I'm going to plan my week differently next week so I can shop for fruit and veg at the local market instead of in the supermarket, and I'm going to try to eradicate my addiction to 'ripe and ready' fruit, I've bought plenty to ripen in the bowl this week so I can ignore it next Wednesday!
I'm about to go and make a huge job lot of chicken pasties from leftover chicken, to send into work with DH (he has a freezer at work so can have a huge tub of free-frozen ones and just defrost and warm up for lunch). Check out my newfound OS ways!0 -

Hello all.:hello:
I'm feeling somewhat smug this morning; I did a towel wash first thing, and got Mr LW to hang them outside before he went to work, and I brought them inside, dry, about two minutes before the rain started falling!:D I also managed to get Dilly walked in the dry, so pleased about that, too.;)
Redruby it certainly is more like October – in fact that's exactly what I was saying to Mr LW last night!:o
Ooh, a birthday..... Hoppy Birdday Little Miss Bitsy.:bdaycake:
Trying again I'm thinking the quote in my siggy line might be a good one for you..... Have a lovely afternoon with your DS.:o
Lola excellent idea getting your F&V at the market – that's what I always do (well, I make a list and send Mr LW to get it usually) and I get much nicer stuff than from the supermarket, for less money, and less extraneous packaging.;)
I need to cook some sausages in a bit (veggie Lincolnshire ones) as we're having sausage salad for dins tonight; the potato is already prepared, with mayo and chives, as we made a double lot yesterday (yesterday's dins was egg salad) so not too much to do today. I love salads, and I am determined to have them, regardless of the manky weather.:D
I thought I was going to be in the doghouse, as I forgot to tape “Falling Skies” last night; but it's broadcast again on Friday, so I'll tape it then. Phew!! We don't bother with much TV, but Mr LW doesn't like to miss the few programmes he does like.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Where is everybody today?
Bright here atm but not sure enough to put washing out. We have to go down quite a few stone steps to get to the garden and when it's wet it can get messy running up and down. Probably compromise and put on airer and leave the patio doors open.
I did so well on the housework front yesterday but the rev is still in this morning until lunchtime so nothing much accomplished yet. Want to go out in the garden while it's still dry and pull up a few weeds. The idea was to do 30 mins weeding every day until the garden was cleared. Unfortunately the weather has meant that before I was a quarter of the way round the first bit needed doing again. I don't know why I don't just give up.
My DS2 who is trying to set up a little gardening business here has offered to come and help when he doesn't have any work on. However, although he has only been going about 4 weeks the work is pouring in and piling up because of the aforementioned weather.
Another virtuous cottage cheese and salad lunch today. I've been trying so hard but the weight keeps piling on. Perhaps I'll just settle for being like the little teapot, (short and stout).
What's all this about people panic-buying UHT milk and tinned potatoes? Have a feeling the drama queens are at it again. A few short weeks ago we were being advised how to save water and told to plant flowers and veg that would survive the drought that was surely coming. Don't know about you but my drought-loving flowers and veg are wearing snorkels.
Right. Off out to the garden I go, before my meagre lunch.
Maybe I'll see you all later.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Afternoon All
Happy Birthday Miss Bitsy, hope you have a good day and enjoy all those new toys!
Well, I have just lit the log burner as it's feeling a little chilly here and pouring down again - it was dry up to about half 10 this morning but that's it I think! Will put some washing on in a mo which can go on the airers, hope yesterdays is dry or I wont have any room.
DD has gone off with 3 pals to Alton Towers in my car. I am using hers and so far I have had to clear out all the rubbish and put petrol in it, she only left a couple of hours ago. She also needs a new headlight bulb and a rear windscreen wiper! They are travelling down today and staying nearby tonight and tomorrow - going to the rides tomorrow so hope it stays dry for them.
Been to Sainsbugs this morning and got some basics chicken and a turkey drumstick for tea, trying to low carb for a while to see if it helps my gippy tummy.
Hope the poorlies feel better, take care. XX0 -
Can I ask what is probably a silly question? Why do people refer to supermarkets as mr t etc? Are we not allowed to name stores?0

Back from the hospital. Nurse thinks I am at the end of the UTI, but getting better. The MS has had another relapse, and of course I will get worse because of that, it doesn;t get better
Still she doesn;t want to see me again till November now, just got to up my fluid intake by a litre a day.
lolacocacola I think people are just being ironic when they talk about Mr T and Sainsbugs!
DD had the Health Visitor for the last time today as DGD is now 2 and is being passed to the School Nurse now. Apparently she is above average in everything (tell us something we didn't know!) and they are quite happy with her.
Anyway, raining here now, so going to catch up on my recorded tv.I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
Lola I even find myself talking about visiting Mr M, Mr T and Mr W at home - and Mr LW actually knows what I'm on about!!:D
Hilstep Have a (((HUG))); if I could take away your MS I would. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
