Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all well sun is out but not for long again rain due mid morning.I have a dentist appointment with one of the boys this afternoon for a check up, so this morning I hope to get my ironing done out of the way . DD and her OH went to see Henry's school last night and pick up some uniform for him. They didn't stay for the talk, as last year Jack started at the same school so DD thought it hasn't changed much in a year, plus she hadn't finished work until 6.30p.m. and was quite tired She is full of a cold at the moment bless her but unfortunately no work, means no pay so she is battling on.
As they were out, I made the boys spag bol for their dinner which went down well, and when DD and OH came home I stayed and had cottage pie with them so last night I didn't get home until beyond 9.30.I bet my neighbours wonder where I keep disappearing to,I'm hardly home at times. I like to help out if I can.Poor Mikey's supposed to have his school 'Picnic in the Park 'today but I have a feeling it will be rained off. I'm sure the sun will return at some point this summer but who knows when.Well I must get a wriggle on as I have the school run to do before I can start my ironing mountain(still I can watch catch-up t.v. at the same time)multi-tasking thats me

Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
Cheers JackieO xxx

Morning JackieO and all who follow. Dry and bright here this morning so Jack and I had a good walk. Hoping to do sports day this morning as the forecast looks good. Hugs to all in need and welcome to the newbies. Won't be back from school until 8 pm as we do an evening performance of our play for working parents. It went very well yesterday so we were very proud. Hope you all get some sun today , have a good day all. Enjoy the ironing JackieO£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Morning all,
No rain yet, but it looks like we might get some later. Back to work today, so less OS for me, why is it holidays go so fast?
Dinner tonight will be bacon egg chips and beans, will get dd to peel some spuds and make the chips, she can also tidy through lounge and kitchen, that way it will be nice for when I come in
Got a work meeting at home tonight as well, I hope it wont go on beyond 1/2 hour.
Will do a wash tonight and get it on the airer, it was so chilly last night I sat with a blanket over me, feels like October not July
Anyhoo, have good days all xx0 -

Sun at the moment, but clouds keep coming over! Daily Mail says that after this week it will get better:T
Seeing my Nurse at 10, hope to find out what's wrong this week. Had wraps with left over chicken last night.
I am fed up with trying to diet at the moment, nothing seems to be working. I need to get my body right first I think.:o
Got my rattan furniture yesterday. OH will have fun putting it together at the weekend:rotfl:

Sunshine here today and I have DS's bedding in the washing machine so hope to get it line dry today. We finished painting the walls and ceiling in our bedroom-final coats today and DH has gone back to work for a rest! I am waiting for the carpet fitter to ring and so we need to gloss the skirting boards and fit architrave round the new cupboard.
Off to the food bank in a bit for my Wednesday shift.
Tea is Hunter's chicken, potatoes carrots and green beans.
Have a good day all and hugs and kind thoughts to all in need.

Morning all
I'm waiting for the post office to open, also need to go buy Milk etc from mr S after. Shopping at mr S W etc is so uninspiringI wonder, is it possible to bypass supermarkets when buying milk when you don't live around farms?
The house feels scruffy, dry washing waiting to go away, spare pillows on the floor, I don't like it. Will have to tidy it all up today as well as do more OU work. No idea what to do for dinner, got half a pack of sausages to use up but don't know what to do with them.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Happy Birthday Miss Bitsy :bdaycake:
Weather looks like it is going to be an on off rain day so the washing is on the patio again (I can't wait to put it on the line, but I can't keep going out to get it in because of my knees, much easier to leave it on the airers on the patio and then just lift it in the house when the rain comes).
Got to go to the bank today I used my card in the co-op machine and it locked me out  It is the second time that has happened and only with the co-op  so I have to go to all the pallaver of getting it unlocked.:mad:

Morning all
Sunny here this morning but the clouds are brewing up, supposed to be heavy rain for us this afternoon, very muggy too.
Came down to three dead things and the innards of something else this morning, I love my cats dearly but wish they'd leave their presents outside! One cat did leave me two birds under the swing yesterday, bless him. With 6 cats the present offering can get a little much.
I've tidied and hoovered through the downstairs and washed all the floors (hard floors throughout the house are a godsend). DD1 is currently hoovering the upstairs and stairs and will wash those floors for me. She wants me to help her make a skirt this afternoon so I traded a bit of floor cleaning for my time.
Did a pork joint in my halogen oven last night, amazing! I love the flavours of the foods cooked in there and haven't turned my main oven on since buying the halogen.
DH has another conference call this morning regarding work, they are laying him off due to I'll health but are trying to come to a compromise on payout...there's a light at the endof the tunnel with it all now.
Leftovers for lunch, some salad, couscous, pork and egg mayo, will make some rolls to go with. Dinner will be spag bol with lots of added veg as there's lots to be used up.
Hope you all have a dry day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

I am going out to lunch today-my neighbour asked me to go as her guest to a 'do'.Its because she has done a lot of years of giving blood so theres a 3 course lunch and a presentation.MS for me as I prob won't need much tea.Need to go and make myself presentable :eek:Better sort out what the men can have for tea first though or I will be in the doghouse
Hope you all have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning everyone,
Happy Birthday Miss Bitsy.
Hilstep hope the nurse can sort you out.
DD1 is really ill with her ear infection. I have left her home in bed and am going home at lunch. I am taking her back to the doctors this afternoon. She needs to be sorted out before we go on holiday.
Still feeling fed up. Am seeing my friend this pm and not sure how I will feel.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0
