    Hello all

Well I'm a bit less maudlin today! On the survival issue I have decided that in a SHTF situation we would have very little control over what happened especially if it included a disease. To use the lambing analogly again it is always surprising who survives and who doesnt. For example last night there were two lambs struggling a reasonable strong one and a very weedy triplet whose other two siblings died. The triplet is up and about bouncing round my front room and the other really doesnt look like he will make it. If you were to bet on survival your money would have gone on the stronger male lamb every time.

I have treated myself to a kindle from Ebay (2nd hand) as I have downloaded loads of prepper free books to my computer and noticed some good reasonably cheap ones on Amazon.

The library has contacted me as the David Moody book . Patriots has arrived via interlibrary loan, sorry those in Doncaster you will have to wait for me to read it! I am busy working my way through D&DD's reading list suggestions, probably have to hide sharp objects if I get through many more!! LOL

Sneaked out to our local boot sale, despite the weather!, got two 50 hour pillar candles for 50p and 8 assorted candles for £1, added them to the prepping stash!

Still no funny additions to the condom use list!????

Horrible weather here today wet, dull cold and blustery but hey I got to Saltburn and Redcar yesterday and the weather was kind. That where I got my matches and mandoline slicer...I attended my first Farmers Market(not my last I hope)came back with one small treat for myself a jar of honey with added whisky...no more expensive than what you buy in the supermarket.

The home made wine no doubt lovely was too expensive £6.50 a bottle...

  • They've got some interesting preppers stuff.

Gas cartridges at 4 for £3-99.

A local camping store (which is having a closing down sale) is selling them for £8 for 4.

    A 4 slice camping toaster, for £2-99.

Finally, proper mess tin sets for £2-99.

Yeah, I went yesterday and got one of those single ring butane camping stove and 4 canisters. Wondering if I should get 4 more.... As we go in the caravan a lot, I reckon it will be useful for cooking stinky stuff we don't want to do in the 'van - bacon or curry for example. Also I am hoping to get to a music festival with DS this year (we are hoping for Glasto returns - along with a thousand or more others) so would use it then.

Didn't see the mess tins in mine :(
I wanna be in the room where it happens

  • H7N9 now 60 confirmed cases and 13 deaths in China and there are 2 new cases in a different province so the thing has started to spread outwards. One of the newly confirmed cases is the wife of a man already being treated for the flu but they can't be sure if he was the infection vector for her. They still cannot find the virus reservoir but are testing polutry in the capital and culling all live birds. Bit worrying yes?

Very worrying.Have bought some extra hand gel to add to my stores. I always think it is the cases that go unreported that are worrying, since chances are it is a much bigger number

Just thought I post to say the crossbow I got was this one; http://www.hunters-knives.co.uk/80lb-aluminum-crossbow-pistol.html

Sadly not able to shoot it today, far too windy.

Also in regards to hand gel, Asda had a 3 pack for £1 last week in my local store. Seems a good price. HTH
