Pops it's quite open plan and the cafe is still there
. Havent been there for a while myself, but it's still in the basement
Had my kids building a den out the back on friday, it was great. My eldest came up with an idea of a fire pit and a bbq. Just need to make a plan of what to do out there.0 -
Thank Kezlou perhaps I will have to have a look in town sometime soon...you want to see the fun I'm having getting home from the Arc on Thursday...
My first and probably only time...
craigywv, will dothey snow again for tomorrow:( then again we seem to do ok in general...I'm quite good at packing a rucksack with plenty of decent snacks, drinks, fruit etc...and it gets lighter as the day goes on.
Cosy in bed with my clothes on, hot water bottles, had the heating on a little for hot water so heated the bedroom too.
For anyone with an Aldi some fleece jackets and items for those who like to walk are coming soon and this weekend filled mattress protectors well priced. Thinking I may buy one and that will add warmth and padding to the mattress.
Then should I use my fleece throws, HWB's or electric blanket again I'll be cosy even without the CH. interesting what you said about the coal situation...
Amazingly Kezlou, did I say I was impressed with Chester Le Street on Saturday going to Newcastle, seemed to have a fair selection of local and national shops, a market and all on the flat and next to each other."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Evening folks
DH has had an idea (all by himself!) of getting our joiner to build a permanent barbecue and also a decent greenhouse in the garden - he made comments about my "hobbies", meaning wanting to grow more edibles and having some other way of cooking! Bless!
Tomorrow's tasks include knife sharpening, candle buying, CS haunting (after measuring for curtainage), and food stock taking before any food buying.
As we know have [STRIKE]warmer[/STRIKE] slight less cold weather, I'm going to start off some herb seeds, dig over some space for spuds and onions, and go through my seed stash to see what (if anything) I can plant now. DD's tomato seeds are doing well on the kitchen windowsill, and she's so chuffed!

Sound like quite a good pops
We don't have a market in town anymore, shame really. It's quite good when the continental markets come though.
If you do pop over the cafe called murphys over the road from the bus station sells mugs of tea for 55 p and the food i's really cheap. Quite good for a warm place to rest. I can imagine, public transport it's a nightmare over this way. People in london would be rioting if they had to wait like we do.
Not sure if this any use but I find the, pound land has, some quite good storage jars in there. Especially kilner type ones, they come in different sizes and pack s.0 -
Maryb glad the op went well, everything will look shiny now. Take care till you get the all clear tho.
Daz, so sorry about your Dads dog, the loss stays with you so long. I still think about my little fella and its many years since he went.
VJ'smum, dont spread rumours like that I will get over excited :j:j:j
Am aching like an achy thing but pleased with what I have achieved in the garden. Strawberries nearly all moved from pots to new bed. No 2 little greenhouse moved. Big greenhouse full of matching (free)pots all filled with compost. Old wicker lined planter emptied and used to half fill sundry pots and tyres mixed with HM compost ready to be topped off with bought compost. Garlic planted. and 1/3 of path completed but couldnt move another bag of gravel so will wait for DS to move it down the garden for me. 3rd (out of a skip) little greenhouse dragged round from our garage round the corner ready to assemble tomorrow. And OH managed to replace the multi head on my hose as I couldn't undo the hose clip. Its starting to look tidy and productive :rotfl: and once its all set I will have an easier time as Im making it accessible to me instead of balancing myself on bits of patio to reach stuff. Oh and I found a potato :j must be the one I grew last year! I will not be defeated!!!Clearing the junk to travel light

I will get my caravan0 -

Quite looking forward to the trip. The idea popped into my head from nowhere. Once there I don't have to do much walking and I am happy to watch the sea for hours. I understand that Redcar has been/is being revamped.
Anyone been to Saltburn on here, that's another favourite and not as busy...it has a cliff face lift to help you get to beach level and a pier."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
