Something I've been meaning to mention, but keep forgetting.

Since, in a SHTF situation, you will be very dependent on your knives, you would be well advised to get a sharpening steel, and learn how to use it.

Apologies to any mother's mother's, who get the impression I'm trying to educate them, on how to apply suction to an ovulation. ;)

For years my mum sharpened her kitchen knife on the back door stone step, over time both the step and the knife had a large portion missing in the middle.
  • If the knife had a portion missing in the middle, why didn't the end fall off? :p
