Part of the problem is that rabbit is very low fat. You actually need fat to absorb vitamins and minerals - and not just the fat soluble vitamins either.

Rabbit pie would supply the fat
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

It's really pretty here today - snow flurries but beautiful sunshine in between.
I put my tomato and curcubit seeds in the airing cupboard to germinate - have been checking them twice a day but between last night and this morning the tomato seedlings are 3 inches high - very spindly obviously. Does anyone know if I harden them up a bit then plant them on - I usually plant them a little lower to allow side growth of roots - will this planting a little lower still work? Am concerned them may rot away - wondering if I should sow again???I'm not concerned about the curcubits, as they too are long and spindly but inherently more solid, iykwim.
Right, need to have an essay in for friday, and have a day at hospital also, so need to spend today and tomorrow writing - i'm the queen of prevaricaters!
  • I learned to deal with Rabbit in the Fur at a very early age, I know just how easy it is, it was the thought of the lovelies of both sexes who hadn't been any nearer to fur than in coat form from the furrier and thier rection to being given an intact entire bunny to play with and then watch as the realisation dawned on them that this was it as far as supper was concerned!!!!!! I really am a BAD person!!!!

Saw this on doomsday preppers and thought it was fab. Probably not a practical solution for most of us, but some ideas could be useful...

This is one of my favourites http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ra89Y3WefQ . I will be back with a mixed ground and aquaponics film if I can find it.

I am starting to seriously consider raising rabbits for meat. I have a book somewhere with advice on breeding and caring for rabbits for meat and they definitely take up less room than sheep and cows:D A bit less conspicuous too;) Can also feed crazy doggie with the leftovers. Think I've talked myself into it - off to look for my book....

If you want to swap ideas, give me a shout. ;)

Morning peeps...happy equinox! Altho not feeling very springlike here at the mo...blummin' ffffreezing! Just loade the burner up so it's getting toasty now :)

Can anyone recommend a reliable, reasonably priced re-hargable battery kit? Pref one that can re-charge a few different types of battery. Always bought cheap rubbish ones in the past so want to invest in a decent one (so i don't have to break into my ordinary battery stash!)

    Thanks :)
  • What size(s) are the batteries?

    AA, AAA and D :)
  • There are plenty of chargers that will take AA and AAA batteries (some will take PP3 too), but not many that will take D Cells as well.

You are probably looking at two separate chargers.

I've got one of these which, while limited to charging just two batteries at a time (and takes around 12 hours for D Cells :( ), is completely free to run. ;)
