Preppers of the SHTF thread - I need your help
At work we're having a "Decorate the Egg" type competition for Easter & normally I don't take part (too busy recounting the Loyd Grossman sauce stash I acquired at half price the other day - yes, I did clear the shelf:p) but I have decided to take part this year to show that although they may mock me as a Prepper & an individual (which sounds much better than just plain weird) I can take part with the best of them.
But - I am competitive and yet still want to keep my individual streak - so, what can I dress me eggs up as???
All suggestions are gratefully accepted
In the same vein I already know what my pumpkin will be carved as this year (I saw this on FaceBook) - it will be a VW beetle :jDebts 07/12/2021

I do however have my shiny new excaliber to keep me out of trouble so been playing with that will update all the news when I can get back online properly.

Hope you are all bearing up to the snow and deep freeze, it looks horrendous on the news! Had a good day so far today, went to see the young policeman who renews residence permits, not only had he arrived back from his ten days leave on time, he was friendly and helpful as well. Since they had builders in making new cells he had no electric to run the computer but I do have an appointment on Wednesday and all the papers ready that I will need.
I then went to the gym on doctors orders and worked out very carefully with little pink dumbells...my coach watched over me and made sure I was okay . I actually feel better for going and one exercise in particular felt wonderful and eased off my shoulder and tendon. I will give it a couple of days to rest then I will be back there again.
Best news of all is that it was sunny earlier and got to 23 degrees! It is now overcast but I don't care, the sun was lovely while it was here and it was very nice to feel dry and warm at the same time.
Called into Lidl to get some red apples as my OH can't eat the Granny Smith's I bought on Friday...you should have seen his face when he bit into one last night LOL.......however, I really enjoyed them with my slice of edam so he can have the red ones while I enjoy the tarty green ones.
Right , off to start moving the coats, hats, scarves and various other things (including boxing gloves and a bottle of old oil ) from the hallway ready for the man to come and take off the old plaster later this week and replaster it all. I might just put my new marigold and nasturtium seeds in the flower boxes if I have time...it certainly feels like spring and all the buds are opening.“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0 -

23 degrees? I'm jealous!0 -
I think it was the channel islands that I saw on the news here. Terrible gales and blizzards hitting them and Northern France. Stay warm folks xxx“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. Been really odd weather here today, thought we had missed all the bad weather as it had been cold, but sunny all week. Then today it was sunny, then snowing with the sun, then dark skies and snow storms. Then it stopped and the sun was so bright it was boiling sat in the house in the sun. Then in 10 mins it changed to coming down so fast it was like fog in the distance making things disappear. Now the sun is out again-crazy weather but hopefully not sticking.
Will catch up on the rest of the thread later, but wanted to post an update about BIL he is now on the normal ward again, off the ventilator and was able to actually walk with a frame a little bit so looks like he is on the mend, although he will never be 100% again.
Off to give the chickens some more water as it keeps freezing lol.
Stay warm ev1

Equally bizarre here; I cancelled going Down West for a class today as I wasn't confident of getting back over the hills late at night in the snow & bitter winds. But the snow seems to have gone, although the wind is still horrible. Again there's that odd sight of snow melt freezing solid; it's sliding off the roof of the car, dripping down & freezing into icicles before it can hit the ground - my little C3 looks like it's wearing a fringed miniskirt!
Sitting tight now with the older Pfaff out doing a little light quilting from some old shirts, with a lamb shoulder bubbling away in the slow cooker on a bed of bendy veg. The girls have just made a batch of white chocolate cookies; I'm not going anywhere for a while!
PS - Alibobsy - excellent news about your BIL.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0
