I keep stuff under t'bed too Greyqueen - in the divan drawers. But only the lighter stuff. I don't think those drawers are very sturdy either.
My tinned toms are on the bookshelf. I mean - where else would they be....?0 -

My tinned toms are on the bookshelf. I mean - where else would they be....?Seems perfectly normal to me.
I have a secondhand blockboard DVD cabinet with lots of cabinetty-pulley-outy bits from the c.s. It holds the sewing equipment. And random things like baked beans and toothpaste.
I have custard powder sachets in drawers under my sofa, too.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

That's great! Nice to have good news....

Good luck with that one - I love my salt but oddly my BP and other checks were OK. I think it's like some people can spend their lives smoking and drinking with no ill effects. Hopefully I'm 'salt proof'.
So long as you can get away with lifestyle changes and avoid any meds. A much younger neighbour with very high blood pressure is on beta blockers and has been told she will be on drugs for life. Mind you - I don't think she's making much of an effort to change her lifestyle. Me I would be proving those doctors wrong.
think sitting in the surgery for 20mins past my appt time didn't help, the nurse was doing the baby jabs today and i wanted to stand at the doorway and say " sorry we are closed for vacinations call back another time" poor babies screaming , wanted to run out with them all hehe x Tina the child-catcher:rotfl:Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, And Today is a Gift, That's Why it's Called The Present

I think I'll just buy that book re gardening in Scotland rosetta - the amount of money that I've wasted because all gardening books are geared up for the south of England would have got me a landscape gardener!
TY re the sorrel - I don't eat fish and am not fond of lemon, I might just give the seeds away.
I live not to far from JO'G and we had some great veggies last year. Dwarf peas, carrots, onions, broccoli, lettuce, radish, dwarf beans, beetroot all grew well. Blackcurrants do very well (although last year wasnt so good) These were all grown in a very windy spot and open spot. Tried brussel sprouts but I think they were planted to close together so going to have another go this year. This year will be planting potatoes. Trial with sweet corn both outside and in the polytunnel this year. Hope that helps, all is not lost just cos we live in a wet, windy place:T Nearly forgot had some lovely caulis as well, which were in the poly but going to put them outside this time and a small courgette put in a more sheltered part.
We gain in growing time with the very long days in summer.0 -
I would really like to do caulies. And turnips and leeks.0

Hi GQ I use a flat teaspoon to a basin full of water, whatever the quantity of pulses I am using, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Started some leeks on the windowsill, they sprouted pretty well. Now they are in the polytunnel where it's cooler, awaiting their final resting place outside. Never grown them before so that's another trial in 'The Veggie Plot':D0
