Poor Craigwyv, I only have the tena need when I have a cough. I would check it out with the doc could be a bit of a bladder infection ya know.

As for my fall, well I ache in many many places, think the main problem was the leg wrapped in the seat belt wrenched all my right side :mad: Lyn how do you know I always forget to take pain killers - OH always shouts to me from the kitchen ' bl**dy things dont work when they are still in the glass, you know!' I use solubles you see. :D

Had a lazy day apart from sitting in the car wash, how these poor lads work in this weather hand washing cars. I sat watching them and worrying about how sore their hands must get. You really have to praise them for doing a job like that, mainly foreigners doing it. Could you imagine if the government punished the really work shy by making them do that job - there would be an uproar :D I emptied all the change out of my purse to give them a tip(not a lot but it was better in their pockets)

Mind you he is a complete whatsit for salt, has to add it to every plate of food without even tasting, but does not thank goodness add it to cooking!

That was my Dad. He'd add it without fail and before tasting the food.

Bought my first jar of Mustard for 49p in Aldi's so if it remains unused I haven't spent too much. I guess which might be the mildest and went for Djon(?)Bought some mint sauce and tartar sauce too.

  • It has been snowing here all day and it is still falling, we have a good 12 inches in our back garden
Luckilly I have enough milk, eggs, bread and stores to keep me in for a good couple of months :D even without fresh stuff we can survive easily.
I have just put in this months Gas reading and it is estimated my bill to be £85 for a month  and I have hardly used it. I can't wait to get that stove. We have decided on a multifuel stove so there is quite a bit more saving to do.

:D Oh, that is so weird. Was talking to the folks about half an hour ago and they've had snow since about lunchtime and I've had none, and drew the curtains.

Just had a peep around them and in about 30 mins a snow shower started and stopped and now it's all fresh and white again. And I missed every little flake coming down.

Just a thought for anyone putting together a car kit at the moment (it's been mentioned before, but not for a while): a hi-viz waistcoat/jacket. Makes such a difference if you break down or have to walk home, especially with other drivers slithering about. And as a horse rider, I appreciate how helpful they are, whether you're wearing one and riding, or driving and noticing a rider up ahead.

You beat me to it. We have a snow shovel, spare screen wash, water for car, blankets, old towels, old waterproofs, sweets, cereal bars, torch/window breaker/seatbelt cutter in each door pocket, emergency phone charger, full comprehensive st johns first aid kit with added extras and high vis jackets. oh and of couse a map. Jackets were only about 2.50 from amazon and the first aid kit was a good price too and contains heat blankets. Alsorts of other useful stuff in various pockets and the boot, its as bad as my hand bag which weighs a ton :o

Bessiebooboo have you got some scraps of carpet to put under tyres for grip if you get stuck? OR sand or cat litter helps in a pinch apparently.
Still snowing here, but I need to go to GP tomorrow :( might as well top up supplies while I'm in the village!

Thanks Helen2k8, we do have a bit of spare carpet, I will shove that in the boot too.

    Best wishes

  • Tena versus Sanitary towels, according to my late mothers Dr, when asked the same question, they don't work the same way as there is a difference in viscosity (sp)!
