It's snowed very lightly all day here and just started to turn into big grown-up flakes. Hills all white and pretty0

Totally agree GQ, how do you pass on the self help message to those who are scared stiff at the thought or those who regard you as totally bonkers? I know lots of folks are upset at the thought of the content of this thread, but that doesn't mean those things can't happen. Goodness knows I think everyone would much rather they didn't, even the smallest disruption to everyday life is upsetting. I would rather not leave it to luck or chance, I prepare as much as I can and all the while keep hoping bad things don't happen to anyone. If they do however, I like to think getting through the event would be less uncomfortable for having a little buffer in place and a few basic skills to make life more bearable. Gives me a little peace of mind, but this is an individual thing I think, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Jealous.
It's cleared out just as the sun is going down (well, can't actually see the sun as am surrounded by buildings) but there is the last hint of daylight and the sky is pure pale blue.
Can almost feel the temperature dropping; turned my heat off hours ago as was too hot but will put it back on again in a minute. Gonna be a bitter night and I'm guessing snow if the clouds come over.
Tomorrow's Headlines.
Chaos. Disruption. Lorry off road. People stranded. *Heartwarming pix of children building snowman. * More chaos. Snowdrifts. *Cute picture of robin/ squirrel/ other telegenic animal against snow.* More chaos. Accusations of incompetance. Picture of gritting lorry in a ditch where it slid off the road. Overuse of word blizzard because it's so much more exciting than moderate fall of snow. Heartwarming story of kindness to strangers/ elderly neighbour. *Cute kids pictured sledging* Network Rail say it's the wrong kind of snow. Ridicule of entire nation's winter prep on Daily Wail comments board from people who live in snowy countries and who also cannot spell or punctuate. *Cute picture of various landscapes under snow.* Photos of silly people outside in snow with no hats, coats, gloves or scarves.
There. So now you won't need to look tomorrow and can have some extra time under the duvet.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

The sheep got double-booked and won't be available at such short notice. A delightfully scruffy mongrel with winsome eyes is being sourced, as we speak, to be pictured in a woolie hat.
Possibly accessorised by cute kids.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Now you're being silly.
It would have to be a Snow Goose on a Sledge wearing a Woollen scarf.
And I really must get tea into the steamer pan.... FB pie and whoopsied broccoli and HG spuds - I is OS I is.
Plus I mended stuff today inc a reusable shopping bag. :A That surely entitles me to a putty medal/ knighthood/ oscar nomination, or there's no justice at all in this vale of tears.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
