Just read something scary.....the Greek government department that pays out unemployment and pensions here has declared that they are well in the red and do not have the money needed to pay pensions and unemployment money till the end of the year. What on earth are all those families and pensioners going to do with no money ? My heart goes out to them all , its bad enough trying to manage on the small amount they pay out but to give them none at all is horrendous and cruel.
Is there a link at all. I can't find anything on the guardian and would like to read up about what is going on0 -
I do have a link Fuddle but unfortunately the article is in English. My Google translate left a lot to be desired, but here is the link:

I heard rumours before that they were struggling to pay the pensions and unemployment for last month. The government owe the doctors and pharmacies billions as well. It's looking bad. It rarely appears in the international press, I think they try to keep it quiet how bad things really are. The EU promised to pay the money in early December from the first tranche of the bail out but that is all going straight to a special bank account to be sent back to the banks they borrowed from in the EU.“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0 -

Boy is it frosty today. The chick's water was frozen over today and my brussel sprouts look all festive in the garden:D.
Ive been a bit poorly this week, think i've over done it and my immune system is telling me to pay attention, so attention duly taken and ive had a couple of days off with a hot water bottle and some hot lemon (home made of course:rotfl:).
What has been lovely is not having to stress about what we have in the house as the "stash" of goodies has lasted pretty well. Though a mild panic may now ensue as the last of the chocolate was eaten last night and we are down to the last pack of toilet roll:eek: so may have to venture out later.
I have an admission to make, I have a new found love (OH knows tho:D), I have discovered that the frontier stove i covet has a water heater attachment, oh the joy of imagining lots of cups of tea.

So the penny jar now has a new focus.
Keep warm and safe all

Hello everyone, enjoyed reading all your comments. We had a good night as although it was windy the storms stayed East of us and I slept like a log. Lots of gravel and rocks on the road and some flooded fields this morning but we actually got some sunshine till about 2pm.
The weather has closed in on us again and its now cooler and raining heavily. It's expected to deteriorate this evening with the storms and high winds coming back. Great joy...
So the shutters are closed and locked again and we have enough dry wood in to last a couple of days. Olive wood is awful to light if its damp! Not planning on going out anywhere tonight. Have spent most of the day at the gym helping out and doing my own workout as well to save me going tomorrow morning if the weather is bad.
I have been posting the warnings on our local forum about the weather and I am amazed how selfish some people are...one woman put a comment this morning that ''the worse that happened was my washing got wet on the line''....I was really annoyed at her since many people had damage and some lost their roof and chimney so I put that on there after her comment. She has since taken it off. Thoughtless...
I really wonder how much people would help each other out if the SHTF big style. I think it might quickly degenerate into a dog eat dog situation and it would be every man/woman for themselves.

I put 2 Tonils link into Bing's translator and it came up in English and seems quite accurate. Frightening!"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Thanks 2tonsils. I got the gist of it. I don't get why the media aren't sniffing out subjects such as this. To me, that's news. That is what I need to read about when I check what is happening in the world.
I'm off to read what actually hit international headlines and no doubt shake my head at the screen.0 -
popperwell I don't know about being accurate on a site that has underwear models under the section 'hot' but I'm on a mission to try to get to read it on a more trustworthy site.0

Fuddle, I didn't see any of that when I looked:o:pHope you find a link somewhere.
I suspect the media and politicians here do know what is happening and trying to hide what they can or let the information out in little amounts so we don't worry/panic."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
