GQ - We've a team lunch booked for 12 noon on the 30th.
Either for celebration or commiseration, and no one's coming back to the office afterwards :j
May I suggest you consider the same? That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

May I suggest you consider the same?I wish. We lowly individuals aren't allowed to not come back from lunch. Heck, I don't even work enough hours consecutively to qualify for a lunch break at all. We will be soldiering on to the end of the shift each day.
Mebbe we'll have to hit up a 'Spoons after w*rk and see if we can drink the place dry once it's all over. I'm a virtual tee-totaller but I think a few shots of Tennessee's finest sippin' whiskey wouldn't come amiss......
Gonna get the sewing kit out and make me a camermoron dolly. Have got some really big pins which are under-employed right now.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Is it even a vague possibility that IF the result of this referendum isn't the way TPTB want it to be it could be declared null and void on a technicality caused by the necessary legal requirements either not being met by these last minute changes or not being fully in 'law' at the time of the vote? or am I just a complete cynic???0

Yup. And you're probably right.
Although I think that there is a constitutional point that our original entry into the Common Market (as was) was unlawful and in breach of shedloads of stuff even going back to the Magna Carta.
I'm hopping mad about it (you may have noticed).:oEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I still don't want to be in charge though do you? but I reckon we'd make less of a botch of it all if we had the REAL facts. Not going to happen in a month of Mondays though is it? still ALL smoke and mirrors and grinning conjurers throwing pretty coloured powder into our eyes! on both sides of the 'debate'? lecture tour!0

:eek:I'm sorry life is so hard atm for those organising the nuts and bolts of the vote. Have to confess Dd2 cut it fine to apply for a postal vote - she is not home from uni in time to vote in person - but in her defence she had second year exams and didn't leave the library for two weeks. The cleaners tutted at the number of RedBull cans they found in the bin - they didn't know they were nearly all hers:eek::eek:It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I've voted postally already and am sitting back throwing peanuts at my monitor when reading news websites. Damn good job I don't have a telly or I'd probably have a coronary in sheer rage. Don't even listen to the radio these days, too much propaganda.
It's gonna be a looooong two weeks, my lovelies, a long two weeks.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Ah, it's interesting to see old English still used in the colonies, isn't it?
I have an African friend who says: 'The weather is not very clement.'
He also calls underpants, 'drawers'.
"Closet" is another one of those
mila - You say "Good job!"; we say "Well done!" (though I think "Good job!" is coming into use here, because there are so many US programmes/programs on TV). Oh and we always used to use "a nasty piece of work" to describe an unpleasant person, but more and more often I hear the American version, just "a piece of work".
craigy I'm so sorry to hear about the Prince. He was a very special boy. I love the idea of Doc finding him a new bunnyI'm sure Lyn is quite right. Sending you (((HUGS)))

I think the whole scenario with regard to the referendum is a mess. I'm sorry you're in the firing line GreyQueen. Don't think you're a cynic at all MrsLurcherWalker. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was declared 'void' on a technicality. But I'm old and world wearied.
Craigywv - I'm so sad for you; it's so very hard to lose any pet and I think Kipling got it 100% right, losing a dog tears your heart. Tolly is our first dog, we waited till we retired and then wondered if we were too old to home one; but he has brought such joy to us. It must be hard for you.0
