Is there any restriction on what you can put in your hold baggage folks? I haven't been on a plane for about ten years. I may have to take some tools over to Jersey to repair a storage heater.
Don't try and transport pressurised LPG or any liquid fuel; they will understandably have a wee fit and demand you get off the plane and deal with it. I always get asked when they spot a burner in my luggage. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I was once stopped with the parent on the way back from a short trip to Europe. Once the searcher worked out that she had raided the specialist shops for strange edibles, we learned that they had recently stopped a regular weekender of the same age who have been importing equally interesting but illegal substances. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

I on the other hand got stopped going out of the country because I'd got some fruit bars in my suitcase! They came as a pack of 5 and as there were two of us going for 3 days I popped in an extra one beside the box but loose and they were packed in shiny foil. They saw the loose one on the xray as a blade!!! Poor guy who opened up the case and searched for the 'blade' just couldn't believe it was a fruit bar but we had a smile about it together and I was let through to airside. I'd much rather be pulled over and checked than not if there is an anomaly in my luggage and hope that every other suspect item was checked out too rather than have things let through that could be dangerous. I too an a grey haired grandma, we must be a desperate and disparate lot at our age mustn't we?0

I've been stopped last twice on leaving country - not for anything in luggage but what is on my person!! And both times had to undergo body search for what turned out to be underwired bras!!
Anyone had same problem?Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
TDiL and I have a bet on whenever we travel by air; which one of us will be stopped & body-searched? She has metal all up & down her spine, having had scoliosis, and I have a ceramic/metal hip, so a long dagger-shaped pin down inside my leg. The only time we can tell which one of us it will be, is if it's young men manning the equipment - funnily enough, they tend to stop the young, pretty one every time! We both carry medical notes to explain, but they only read them AFTER they've searched you.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Methinks something wicked this way comes, the clouds are whipping across the sky as though they have a very powerful electric fan behind them, they're getting blacker and bigger by the second and coming in from the direction of the river. The gusts when I walked Cookie this afternoon almost took me off my feet and it was hard work walking direct into the wind to get back to the village, the trees are blowing round in circles it's very odd indeed. The whole sky is moving. can't watch it for too long it's making me feel dizzy. I think it might be an interesting night!!!0

I went out around five to post a few items and had a tailwind blowing me down the road!
Neighbour has a tall rather poorly looking tree that is blowing around wildly so praying everything is all right till I move later this month."This site is addictive!"

Stay indoors, pet, it's a ropey old night out there. You don't want to be hit by some piece of flying debris.
The parental cats were acting skittish today, as cats often do when it is windy. They have been detained indoors this evening, one on the rad, one kipping on a bed.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
