I fear the Greeks may have decided to die on their feet rather than live on their knees.
And Germany is set to deliver the final blow. But Greece will recover
I wish them all the bestIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
This forum keeps removing my replies! or maybe its big brother...
The latest from the EU...the Greeks took no new proposals , but submitted the last one which was never read or debated. Instead of a written submission, the new finance minister presented it and explained it in his Oxford English. The Greek president sent a letter asking them to help the Greek people . The Greek pm asked to be at the meeting tomorrow where Greece will be discussed in detail. He said if we are going to be discussed, we should be there to speak up for ourselves. He also has permission to address the European parliament tomorrow.
I think we will be out by the end of the week. We are just waiting for them to tell us face to face.....so we are no more the scapegoat for the blame when it all crashes down.....get prepping.....0 -

Given the bash-the-poor ethic of the current incumbents, nothing good for several million people.
Glad to here that some EU-branded tax payers' money is making its presence felt in some parts, wish we could get some of it here for certain roads. I've long noticed a correlation between the parliamentary constituency and the roads. Basically, around here, where you can pin a blue rosette on any fool (or his dog) and get him elected, just because it's a blue rosette, there seems to be no urgency to actually do anything to improve the infrastructure. Barstewards.
Of course, if you take some pounds of people's tax credits, there will be knock-on effects for the economy, as that's money which would have otherwise been spent, in most cases. Someone's gonna see the outcome on their bottom line.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I forget who asked but if you google "the first 100 to disappear in a disaster" a few different sites come up.
For some reason I thought feral was the one who came up with the list but could well be wrong.
I am not looking forward to the budget as I am now recently widowed, one dd and SIL hoping to get a house but priced out of the market, I am trying to sell family house and downsize, another dd looking for a job after uni and remaining dd in need of support due to serious health problems etc. I doubt anything helpful will be brought up in the budget for any of us."This site is addictive!"

I am another one worried about the budget tomorrow, not only am I disabled and have had to suffer, the constant attacks on the disabled by this vile government, my husband's job is very low paid and we have to rely on tax credits to keep afloat.
When are they going to clamp down on the tax dodgers and make the banks pay back every penny they owe us from 2008 and up to all the money from QE?
The rich are getting tax cuts and the poor are getting hammered again.
There will be a time when people will have had enough and all hell will break loose. We are very, very close now.
I think I will move to Greece at least they have a true democracy for everyone not just the rich.
We need an Iceland moment in this country and show the bankers that we have had enough of their corruptionBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
