The submarine one, I've seen once. My shifts play havoc with TV watching. I know that one night I got a phone call from a friend in Texas, telling me I HAD to turn on the TV NOW because there were SEALs with no shirts on. She'd woke me up and I have no idea of what I wound up watching.
I'm a sucker for Tom Selleck, so the only thing I've made a point of catching is "Blue Bloods".0 -
Rosie I agree thats such a good book I'm currently working my way through her English puddings book yum!
Wondercollie my eldest watches Bluebloods although I seem to end up watching it more often than not too now..Tom just never looks any different does he?
Nuatha hope your OH is ok haven't spotted any updates only the lovely corset pics*I wonder if they come in padded*
:D They are just ubercool my husband would probably approve for prep reasons of course :rotfl:
Thriftwizard are there any online resources for corsetry? My hands ain't what they used to be but I do have an industrial machine which may be useful..
Must go get a midnight snack before bed OH has control of the TV (repeat city) so will have a read of my kindle I think..I bought Jonathan Maberrys latest one when it came out and haven't had time to read it yet but once I get started I'll be up all night his books are too good..

2T I am very glad to read that your OH's health has improved. I don't post much but want to let you know how interesting I find your posts. I used to know Corfu very well, I lived just on the other side of the sea in Southern Italy for a few years and crossed on cheap tickets as often a s I could. Met my first husband when I was working in a tiny taverna in Sidari, when Sidari was a small almost unknown village, went back there many times, the last time the people who owned the taverna had died so I never went back after that. I have fond memories (though very fuzzy!) of my 23rd birthday there, all of 32 years ago. Such a pity that Greek people are suffering so much. I used to say that Greece was my spiritual home. Had some amazing psychic experiences when, only just pregnant with my twins, 24 years ago, I traveled on my own to Crete, then to Peloponnese by boat, ending up in Mycenae, got a real X-files experience in one of the tombs there! Interestingly, I ended up living just around the corner from a road called Mycenae road. Coincidence?
On prepping: received my latest AF delivery and am now safe in the knowledge that the family bottoms will be clean for a long time, many many toilet rolls fill up our under stairs storage space. Good for insulation too, I suppose. And plenty of honey roibosch, green and Darjeeling teas. not to mention the stash of Aduki beans! Still, need to get some water bottles!
The spare room is nearly ready for the future student lodgers, it will bring me a bit of cash before Christmas, hopefully. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Byatt:- I just had a look at the FX web site. I was looking to see if the had a type of I-Player. I clicked on the Walking Dead link and there is a Webisodes section to click on. I have no idea if this will give you whole episodes or not, but it's not available at the moment so maybe you will be able to get it once it has aired?

I also found this site which looks like it will show the episodes. http://loadtv.biz/?s=walking+dead
Once again we have woken up to a hard frost, it's funny watching the rabbits hopping fast over the frozen bits to get to where the sun has melted the ice. I can almost hear them wincing! I spent some time yesterday watching some herons walking around a pasture field. Then I realized there were fishermen fly fishing in the river (Must have been bloody cold standing in that.) the herons were patiently waiting for the humans to get out of their 'store cupboard'! :rotfl:
We had a squirrel running along the fence for an hour too, it methodically stripped a hawthorn (I think) of it's berries.
Nature is showing us the way, I think it's saying Pull your finger out! Winter is almost here!
I have to admit I have already got the snow shovel waiting on the patio. I am convinced we got no snow last year just because I had it at the ready! :rotfl:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
meme30 please keep snow shovel out!
We had a good sort out of toys yesterday so I now have liberated some plastic storage boxes.
My campers should go at noon so we then will hit the hedgerows on the camp-site for blackberries and wood. I noticed quite a lot of bigger than sticks but smaller than logs when I was checking the site on Friday.
Tomorrow I'm going to harvest my grapes and have a go at grape and rosemary jelly.
I've just read that rose hips need to be frosted before picking and looking out of the window I think we can pick those no as well.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0 -
I didn't know that about rosehips, thank you. I've my blackberry wine in the demijohn just now but in a couple of weeks I fancy trying a rosehip one. There doesn't look to be an frost here this morning but was yesterday early on.
A bit cross at DH this morning.. the baffoon has took the winter car kit out of the boot to get his fishing gear in. Stupid man. He'll be told tonight amidst a load mickey taking headed my way. I'll win though0
