    it is my shtf now

Just one message to say that my husband died today, he never came home. My priorities have changed. I don`t know where to start. I have been busy since I knew at 5 pm and I am still making myself busy but now I have to inhabit another thread, about practicalities

    My shtf came here today

Very sorry to hear that Kittie.

From when my dad died, first thing was to ask funeral director when you can have the funeral. (You can agree the details in a day or two.) Then you can tell everyone that might want to come. I suggest you ask for maybe five or six copies of the death certificate as insurers, banks etc often aren't happy with photostats.

If you have a joint bank account, this will be transferred quite straight forwardly to just your name. Just notify the bank, sending one of the certificates.

Come back & ask us if we can be of any help.
  • Kittie I am so sorry to read your sad news, what a terrible shock.

My nephew died on Monday, aged 51, five years after the cancer diagnosis that accurately predicted its timespan, and just hours after being moved from home to hospice. Perhaps it's a luxury to have had time to accept it was coming... his young son will barely remember the time before the illness.

One of the good guys, and isn't it always the way.
  • Sorry to hear such sad news Kittie, sending love, light and hugs.
  • Dear Kittie,

I have been looking to contact you since reading your excellent contributions to the various pellet boiler threads, especially as I would like to know more about your eco home.

I have now seen your most recent post and am so very sorry to read of your loss. Reading between the lines of your posts I think you and DH built quite a fantastic life together.

I will be in touch again in a few weeks and would love to hear from you if you ever need the distraction of discussing pellet boilers or eco home plans (we are just about to embark on rebuilding a dilapidated south facing cottage in Scotland).

Warm regards to you as you find your way through the coming days.
