How lovely MARGARET, he's obviously a laddy who likes Gramdmas home cooking. I've Zebra and co coming to stay for this weekend and I'm making some lentil and tomato soup for their supper as they won't arrive until 9.30 ish so maybe we'll try our lad with some tomorrow. It's He Who Knows 70th today and we've just had a massive helium filled balloon through the post for him to go with the banner and huge sparkly badge saying 70 Today that the older girlie gave him last weekend, super stuff eh? He's saved the box for Zebra, old softy that he is!!! Lyn xxx.0

We bought the cat (our current version of grandkids) a hot water bottle. Wrapped it carefully in an old towel and put it in her wee bed.
She's slept in the box the bloody HWB came in every night since.0 -
Cats and boxes, mardatha, cats and boxes. No logic to it at all. Like our ginger tom cat - proper drinking fountain in the kitchen providing fresh flowing water all day long, and he either jumps in the sink and licks round the tap, or drinks from the water fountain outside. One life - your life - live it!0

Good for you Bob! Thoroughly unprofessional and downright rude behaviour....as also demonstrated by the numerous "customer service" (oxymoron alert there!) wallahs and doctors receptionists who think that its acceptable to break off in mid conversation with counter customer to answer the phone...Grrrhhh!:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

The last job I had was counter-service and we were expected, whilst serving the customer at the counter, if the phone rang to pick it up and take a message. Perhaps 2 or 3 times during the conversation. We had said to both local and senior area management that this was rude and inconvenient to the person we were serving, but were told that "people expect this now", that "the customer on the phone is equally as important" and that it was mandatory.
Needless to say, on a few occasions we had customers irate in front of us... but there was nothing we could do but take the flak.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
If you have tried that with me Softstuff, you would have found yourself with a counter full of items, and no customer.0

It wasn't a shop Bob, but yes, people walked out. Absolutely nothing we could do as staff though, damned if we answered the phone (upsetting both the person at the counter and the person on the phone), damned if we didn't (missed calls were even logged by head office - we were targeted with them and could even get written warnings about it).
Quite often, when you find a person in customer service of some sort, who has to say something stupid or do something stupid, it's because some idiot higher up behind a desk (who has never stood behind a counter in his life) has decided that's how it is and that's that.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I agree (with both of you  ). Its very offputting as a customer, and its horrendous for the staff who have the emotional intelligence to know that its offputting, and yet are forced to carry out the policy - its so public, its not a policy you can get away with disobeying in private
I feel for you, softstuff! I was worried you were sleepless too, until I realised (once again) where you live!
