That's what I wanted them for, to go in a 1st Aid kit.and people on the smaller aspirin dose are usually prescribed another drug to protect their stomachs.
Don't they use gastro-protective tablets now, to protect their stomachs?0 -

Paracetamol, ibuprofen, etc., yes, but not soluble aspirin.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinaterI dont suffer from insanity....I enjoy every minute of it!!.:)

I'm sure i've seen 300mg asprin in the Northern Ireland pound shops too. but can't remember if it was the soluble or non soluble. I always intend to buy the soluable - chewing or taking this dissolved is recommended in that golden hour. Swallowing whole is supposed to take a longer to work its way into your system - grand for a headache, but speed is your friend if a clot in your system is suspected.:j got married 3rd May 2013 :beer:0

The advice is, it should be chewed.0

The "whistleblower" has since posted a partial retraction, admitted that he was overly selective and incomplete in his treatment of the 2004 data.
An analysis of 67 research studies published in the peer reviewed journal Pediatrics, indicates that serious vaccine-related complications are rare, and the study found no evidence that vaccines cause autism.

I think whether someone gets enteric coated aspirin or the soluble version depends on the GP' s prescription. The enteric coated ones would be more expensive.
Re pharmacists doing their jobs - yes, absolutely, a good one would offer advice and explanations, and not just a straight refusal to sell. Maybe I am generalising here, but I find the small independent chemists much better to deal with than the big chains. The staff in big national stores may be civil and helpful, but the service seems so impersonal, compared with that from.a small shop where the staff know your name.
And on the subject of medications, how does restricting the sale of paracetamol prevent suicides when someone determined enough can just go into every pharmacy and supermarket and collect two packets from each place? And what about restricting the sale of laxatives, knowing how people abuse them? One life - your life - live it!0 -
I don't think it would be necessary, to visit several shops.
Some stores will sell you three packets, each containing 16 -500mg tablets.
Once you've taken 24g in one go, taking more wouldn't make much difference.
There's also far more dangerous substances, freely available.
I won't elaborate, for obvious reasons.0 -

Or, more to the point, just buy one or two of those portable temporary barbecues and decide to barbecue a steak/fish or whatever or two indoors, ie on the basis of the number of accidental deaths from barbecues not having been properly extinguished?
Hence, why I just don't get this restrict paracemetol type idea going round.
If people want to...they will...and that's that.
Hence thinking "So what is the real reason for being awkward about letting people buy however many paracetamol they think they will then?" and it genuinely puzzles me..0
