Enough with the vermin, we're upsetting craigyw.
Anyone seen/ done/ bought/ wombled anything preptastic today? I went to a Liddly which wasn't my regular Liddly and found that they still have the Simply 2 ply t.p. so I bought 36 rolls as my store seems not to be stocking them anymore.
Sooo, that means I have 36 with me, 30 in my bedroom, 48 on the shelf in the bike shed and 3 in the bathroom. Think I'm OK for a while, thank goodness.
Who has the largest t.p. mountain on this thread?
ETA Buggalugs should meet the Queen of Sheba, 4 kilos of grey (probably mongrel) Burmese with extreme catitude who has just got into a major sulk because I turfed her off my lap to crack on with something else. She was soo comfortable she was dribbling with bliss and I am evil for moving her. The look she gave me made me very glad I outweigh her and have opposable thumbs..............Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

They even ate the only two elephants in town (called Castor and Pollux).
This reminds me of the story of the two blokes doing a sign-writing job on the side of a factory, the company being called Studley and Pollock.
The guy up the ladder calls down to his mate "I've finished the Studley, and I'm starting the Pollock now. Pass me up a P".
His mate at the bottom of the ladder, is rummaging in the back of the van, and shouts up "We haven't got a P. We've only got a B left".
The guy up the ladder shouts down "In that case, we've made a right mess of the London Brick Company".0 -

Groan! What have I accidentally started?!
In the Seige of Paris 1870-1971, they had to eat anything they could, but stylishly:
A Latin Quarter menu contemporary with the siege reads in part:
(horse)
CMOT Dibbler would be envious. They even ate the only two elephants in town (called Castor and Pollux).

Ooops! I know things were ruff in 1971 (my folks were pretty skint, f'rinstance) but that was clearly a typo. Well spotted, that woman.
Just had to put the light on to type this response or you'd've had even more (t)errors to contend with. :rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

F.SOD... that's shocking the difference in those photos
What is not shown in these photos is the impact on the water table. Parts of Texas have completely depleted the water table primarily by fracking that they now have to truck water into around 30 towns. If you cannot afford water you die. It will be interesting to see what happens to the western USA if the drought continues and water starts to be rationed. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
I think that the siege of Leningrad had very similar consequences with people also being eaten, after all the animals had been eaten. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0
