When ever I get anything online and it comes in a bubble wrap envelope I keep them for reusing. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

Our local post offices are based in the village shops and they all sell various sizes of polythene-type posting bags and jiffy bags, Wilkos and (I think) £land had a selection last time I looked, but they're widely available online, in all sizes, quantities and qualities (and colours!) - fleabay and Amaz0n have loads listed, and I'm sure there are more specific websites too. I buy a pack occasionally if the family are selling lots of bits and bobs on fleabay, but reuse whenever possible so the new ones are rarely needed.0 -
Morning all.
daz, Poondland and the 99p St0re have the mailing bags, manilla with bubble-wrap lining. Pretty much the cheapest places to get them unless you have an ex-office source of them. I get them passed to me by a couple of friends to pass to the kid bruv online bookseller.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Mmmm - there might be something to be said for a breakdown in supermarket supply chains - fresh pancakes with blackberries (picked at the riverbank) & cream (from the market, £1 for a tub of locally-produced Guernsey cream when bought with a litre of raw Guernsey milk) make an awesome OS breakfast! Flour from the mill, eggs from our own hens, pancake batter made up last night & popped in the fridge ready to roll this morning. At times like this, stepping outside the Supermarket Matrix seems quite possible...Angie - GC Oct 25: £372.89/£500: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 40/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

I don't like blackberries.....but even so that sounds fab.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

Once I get myself a dehydrator I am looking at the idea of making my own bran and corn flakes. I probably will not save any money but I think I will eliminate those E numbers.
The other planned breakfast use is to make Knäckebröd which is great with cheese and butter. It is a typical scandinavian snack, high in fibre and healthy as well. So over time even less of my money will be going into supermarkets. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
thanks will try poundland and wilkies will be sending as many packets of choc hobnobs under 2 kg (as the price above this weight rises astronomically)0
