Don't mention hats, MrsLW! I happen to have approx. 100 currently infesting DS1's bedroom - my summer fair & festival stock! There are some seriously silly ones...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

I don't do hats, each and every one I've ever tried on makes me look like a mushroom!!! I think even the prettiest and most tasteful hat that's ever been created would STILL look like a mushroom on me!!!0

If it were a Moped, it would require registration, a Driving Licence, 3rd Party Insurance, VED, and a helmet, because it would be a Motorcycle.
Where do you get that from?
If you go to the importer's site, it clearly says under the pictureDayun Electric Moped!
No Insurance - No Registration - No Licence
And btw, a moped is not a motorcycle. They are two distinct things. We're all doomed0 -
Mrs LW, I'd not thought of reading material for when a SHTF scenario renders one housebound! I tend to get fiction from the library or for pence from the CS, then recycle to same when I've done. I'd really like to have a library of my fave authors, some I'd happily re-read periodically, but that means trawling CS regularly, wouldn't object to buying a few new PB, though.
On a recent few days away, I rode a bike for the first time in over 30 years. Despite a bad case of being saddle sore, I didn't do too bad, didn't fall off :rotfl:, and sorely tempted to have one for myself just in case!

Actually, a moped is a motorcycle with:-
A kerbside weight not exceeding 250Kg.
A maximum designed speed not exceeding 30mph.
If fitted with an internal combustion engine, a capacity not exceeding 50cc.
As for the importer describing it as an "Electric Moped", they also say:-An EAPC which complies with the above is not considered to be a motor vehicle within the meaning of The Road Traffic Act 1988.
If it's not a motor vehicle, it can't be a moped.0 -
I found this recipe for an oral rehydration drink online and it got me wondering if anyone has a home remedy they would like to share. I would only cautiously use this recipe if there was a SHTF situation with no doctor or pharmacy available. Thoughts?
Ingredients:
Servings: 5
1 liter water, boiled
8 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
lemon juice (optional)
lemonade (optional)
mashed banana (good for potassium) (optional)
Directions:
1
Boil the water and let cool.
2
Stir in sugar and salt, and let them dissolve.
3
Add any desired flavourings.0 -

My senior nurse SiL swears by flat full sugar lemonade. It only needs to be flat so drinking it doesn't make you sick.
I have just returned from overseas, and stopped over in Amsterdam yesterday, where everyone cycles. And it struck me that they weren't Cyclists either. No flash bikes, just rather rickety "sit up and beg" types, no Lycra.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
