I'm loving the look of those Weck glass jars, does anyone know if they are suitable for pressure canning?

Well I don't know that, but I do know I'd like to know what pressure canner you use :)

Yep I'm sure it is ... Can't wait to try it :)

Of course it didn't say anything on the website I bought it from about not using it on a glass cooker, so I'm off to visit a friend next week to try it out on her gas hob :)

    Hi all
I'm sure Richard Sandford said he used the Weck jars for pressure canning, they come in a huge variety of sizes & shapes & the wide neck makes them easier to use than kilner/mason jars. Also with the kilner/mason jars it can be difficult to tell if the top has been release by opening the jar or if it had been released before.

Like it! Too busy with work to do any prepping these last few days but have picked up one of these:

in the current t3sco promotion. It looks like a solid piece of kit which would prove good for dismembering small animals in a shtf foraging situation and perfect for dealing with zombies:

    Evening preppers

Am loving the recently-posted links from you all, especially GQ's knowledge weighs nothing - you are a norty girl, I spent AGES tootling aroung and still didn't see everything!!

My Kelly Kettle is on its way, looking forward to playing out with it! I dismembered a tree several weeks ago, rehomed most of the wood to a friend with a woodburner, but saved loads of small twigs that are tinder dry in the garage, so I have fuel, too! :D

:) Glad you like the Knowledge Weighs Nothing site. I thought it was too good not to share.

Am amusing myself over there atm whilst hanging on the phone with my mobile provider. 45 mins and counting........grrr! My bad, should have got my PAC ages ago even if I wasn't ready to switch SIM until this weekend. Ach well, at least I have the web to amuse me.:rotfl:

Was gonna use this morning for some personal admin inc calling my old utility company but won't be doing that after this. When you work in a call centre there's only a certain amount of calling you want to do on your own time.

Mind you, my one-handed typing technique is improving by the moment. Phone hand has gone to sleep, tho. Wish I had a headset like at work then I could get on with some sewing whilst I wait.....

ETA; The fruits of 1.5 hours on the phone are one PAC code, spoke to two people and accidentally disconnected myself from second person when they wanted me to read them a verification code they'd texted me whilst we were on the call. How the hell do I do that?! Phone started with a full charge and is now limping along........losing will to live here. Starting to think Oh beggar the gift card, it's only a few quid, my life's time is more valuable than this.

And I'm recommended to try the new SIM before activating the PAC code with another phone call in case it's a duff one. <<insert headbanging smilie>> I could lay that mobile on the floor and hit it with a hammer, oh yes I could........ ;p

ETA Part 2 Oh, I can put in my credit on their website. Why didn't First Call Agent tell me I could do that?! Will do that after I've finished faddling around with the new SIM as I'll have to call them again and the balance will be lower. Meanwhile am charging the phone and starting to crave the DevilFood (ch*c*lat*). Don't think I can continue with this phone malarkey right now or my head might explode......
