I don't have a problem with the TV licence, the BBC output seems to be pretty good value for money.0

I do have six foot gates and four dogs though
It would save you a fortune in dog food if, once a week, TVL sent a doorstepper, to climb over your gates.0 -
But one might question the legality - or at least the morality - of a fee levied by one channel for watching live TV - whatever the channel. It's a bit like me selling you fish and chips if you only wanted chips and saying 'tough - the chips come with fish and you have to pay for it'.
It's a bit different to that, in that it's a national broadcast service, it broadcasts to the world and even to some extent forms a part of our foreign policy, part of which is projecting british values abroad.
A national institution?0 -

The problem is that if you have a TV that is capable of watching live TV then you have to pay for a licence.
No you don't.
From the TV Licensing Website. The law states that you need to be covered by a TV Licence if you watch or record television programmes, on any device, as they're being shown on TV. This includes TVs, computers, mobile phones, games consoles, digital boxes and Blu ray/DVD/VHS recorders.
You don't need a licence if you don't use any of these devices to watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV - for example, if you use your TV only to watch DVDs or play video games, or you only watch ‘catch up’ services like BBC iPlayer or 4oD.0 -

Each to their own.
I personally can't be bothered with watching TV.
Also, I too, don't have a problem with the TV licence.
What I have a problem with, is Capita, and their treatment of the LLF.0 -

Actually, I'd say it's more like having to pay a fee to Tesco (despite not shopping there), in order to be allowed to shop at the other supermarkets.0
