BTW. Could I ask, if any of the FMs who clicked to thank me for post 17757, understood what I was on about?Beggared if I know - thought I was being dense because I hadn't taken my meds at that point, but on re-reading I still don't geddit - and what's an "FM" anyway?
I have a driving license (current) and a first aid certificate (expired) but I don't admit to prepping. You never know where information might end up.
Been prepping the veggie garden this afternoon and turning some stray kiwi bucks and euro coins into £££ which I then spent on some grub. More use than leaving them cluttering up the drawer. Guy in the bureau de change asked me when the kiwi coins were from (2006) as they'd had a change of several of their coins a few years ago and some of the ones people are holding onto aren't any good now. Mine were OK.
There's a thought; anyone have some stray funny money lying around which they can change for the spendable stuff? Keep coins too long and they might be defunct.
Suppose I bliddy well better do the washing up - housemaid has deserted her duties yet again. *Sigh*.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

With you all thanking me, I assumed you had made the connection.
It's from the Rocky Horror Show.
Please don't tell me I'm the only RHS fan on this thread?

BTW. FM means Forum Member.Thank goodness FM doesn't mean anything ruuuudddddeeee - it'd take me hours to drive up to your neck in the woods (after twocking someone's wheels) to smack, should it have been an insult.
I'll admit to having danced the Timewarp a time or two.......prolly whilst under the influence, but wouldn't know it well enough for fandom. Are you one of those hardcore fans who dresses up and goes to the shows? C'mon, you can tell us - photies optional.

Not exactly.
I have seen the live stage show, twice, but never while wearing high heals and fishnets.Perplexed_Pineapple wrote: »I understood the reference BB. Sadly...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Not sadly at all PP.
IMHO, the RHS is a the greatest comedy stage show of all time.
Anyone who hasn't seen it (either live or on TV/Video), doesn't know what they are missing.0 -

I was sorting some paperwork out today and found a letter from our Parish Council from September. There were asking residents for help putting together an emergency plan for the area. They asked for information such as if you had any medical training, if we had any equipment which may be useful e.g. 4x4 vehicles/diggers/lifting equipment/chain saws etc. Also would we be able/willing to look after individuals/pets should the need arise. Did we have the ability to drive and would be be willing/able to transport people/pets in the event of emergency. All this information was to be gathered to help the local residents in line with Harrogate's own emergency plans. I did consider filling this in but in the back of my mind I'm a bit worried of letting the local council know what I have/have not in the way of prepping. Also I don't know who would have access to this information. I have not heard anything further so I don't know how many people in the village responded or what happened to that information. Has anyone else had requestes for similar information?
This isn't anything particularly new - many moons ago, probably mid '80s, I helped a friend uncrate the early warning siren from his office (village copper) for its 5 year test. Also in the crate was a couple of ring binders with that sort of info. He was supposed to update the info every 6 months IIRC, he didn't because he didn't trust where the info might end up, but he did know who to go to for just about any emergency kit you might need.Bedsit_Bob wrote: »I'm with you Pollyjuice.
By law, they're not allowed to discuss/share information about you, without your permission, but in a really serioussituation, I would imagine the DPA would be way down their list of concerns.
Plus, who's to say they won't just check their records, to see who has what, then roll up mob handed, and confiscate your equipment and supplies?
Sharing the info officially is one thing, its the people handling the data and making their own notes I'd worry more about.
They wouldn't need to be mob handed, they would have all the paperwork they needed and more than sufficient equipment to repurpose your kit and supplies.
Anything which is obvious/visible is worth declaring, everything else comes under persec/opsec, there's nothing stopping anyone from volunteering equipment or supplies in an emergency, being compelled to "volunteer" is a different matter entirely0 -
