Oohh that map is hypnotic. I'm glad the big scary eyes are nowhere near me. Hang on to your hats, people.
Pink Thrift, awesome about your outhouse roof. Wind is the most amazing thing, the particularness with which is removes some things and pops them down unbroken........... however did you get it back again?
We never did :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It was at the house we rented before we bought ours and I think it is still lying there!
Everything is tied down here, if it isn't, it's likely to end up in Norway0 -
:)If leccy gets truly silly, people might come to think When that freezer dies, I won't replace it.
Thats exactly what were doing now, the price of fuel is ridiculous.
Our freezer died and we can't afford to replace it. So now were just using an undercounter fridge and a storecupboard.
Working out fine, its hard getting used to it, but for a couple of months now we haven't had one.
Instead were thinking of saving up for a dryer, one that we can use only when needs be and can be switched off thus not using any power.

 There's a red bit on the wind map between Iceland and Scotland. That wasn't there earlier. Does it mean OMG here comes a gale?
I have wombled. Not 100% sure what I have wombled but they're whizzing in the washer as we speak. Seems to be two identical polyester satin with embroidery oblong quilted throws. Made for Sainsbug's brand "Tu".
I'm thinking they're maybe some kind of fancy bed-dress which isn't the kind of thing that I'm really into, preferring as I do to leave my bed unmade during the day with window open for airing, then spending the night in a snarl of duvet and furry blanket in the middle of the mattress, akin to a hamster in her bedding...........:rotfl:
Bed-dressing, throws and decorative cushions not really featuring here. House Beautiful and *wallpaper unaccountably not clamouring to photo my des res.
Howsomever, the whatever-they-ares are nice and if I don't decide to remake them into something else, I shall donate them to Hoxfam to raise some spondulicks.
I'm registered for Gift Aid there and love the thought that everything of mine they sell costs G. Osbourne another 25%. Stickin' it to The Man, yeah.
Not brilliant YS at Tosspots this afternoon but did manage to buy a £2 steak pie reduced to 20p so can't grumble too much, that's tomorrow's meal sorted.
Suppose I ought to start making that chili. With stuff from the Magic Greegrocer, HG stuff, best mince off the indy butcher and chili powder bought from the dying carcase of Julian Graves (RIP).
Dunno what I'd do if I had more money, I'd be soooo bored.jk0, love the sound of your neighbours. Rich wasteful people living nearby - what a treat. Can see that inviting them in for a Christmassy sherry and mince pie wouldn't be viable, tho.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I bet you guys get sick of hearing me talk about Economy 7, but have you heard of this idea?:
I read about a guy some years back with a large chest freezer who ran it solely on cheap overnight electricity. He turned the thermostat slightly lower than normal, so that even after no power all day it still kept his food frozen.
When I was 19, I got a job in an ice cream van. This had a large freezer in the back for the ice lollies, but of course there was nowhere to plug it in. It was solely powered when it went back to my boss's home every night, where he plugged it in. The lollies stayed nice and cold, even on the hottest days.0 -
Really wild here - fishing boat off again due to 40 ft waves - higher than the boat is long! Really irritating for crew as they prices are usually pretty good coming up to Christmas and through to chinese new year, and they're missing out - so much moaning going on here.
It was me that had the mouse issue - came home one day to a sea of soya milk in the kitchen - bliddy things had chewed the corner off my store - around 20 litres. Am much more careful now!!
Washing machine died today - having another delivered a week on monday - it's so so difficult to get anything in a hurry here, so shall be back to scrubbing fishing gear on the draining board - it's been a while!! Eldest's car died also on friday over in Perth, so have had to travel over there to retrieve him and his stuff. What next I wonder???? Good job i'm not superstitious.
Mar hope your roof is fixed ok and Pink hope you're all tied down too. Pretty much everything we have outside is full of water - hasn't stopped raining for ages - so not likely to blow away!!

Severe attack of the puns here tonight.
Was it something in the water?
If in doubt, recall W.C. Fields' many words of wisdom on the subject of water, to which I have provided a handy link, to protect any passing innocents who may have wandered across this thread.

On the subject of cats, I just popped into the kitchen to put the kettle on (yes I know, it won't fit me
) and, as I strode along the hallway, there was an almighty scream.
Buggalugs was lurking in the hallway, with her tail lay across the floor.
I think you can guess the rest.0 -
