  • Hi all
Been reading posts but keep getting interrupted when im about to post (bloomin' real life)
My first aid book arrived the other day so have been having a wee peruse. Also succumbed to the Book peeps and got the Wartime farm book and Alys Fowlers foraging book so head has been down while i oohed and aaahed :D.
Im really enjoying the hints and ideas being posted, they have really helped me focus on what i need/want to put in place for any emergencies that may come our way such as being cut off in winter.
To be honest I'm also enjoying finding peeps that have a similar mindset, who happily share ideas/concerns and solutions. I have a feeling things may get worse and I for one feel more secure knowing I have thought about situations and have got some things in place to help my family.
    Keep posting :T

  • Fuddle, I have no complaints about them, I find mine great but am glad I was able to do what was suggested, that was buy two so I can use 10 trays at once instead of just 5. So can dehydrate double the amount.. The extra motor is away so if need it, its there. I don't think things are taking any longer to dehydrate with the 10 trays, I just check every so often and move them around. Obviously I can only speak for the one I have, one that a few on Make and mend thread have. I don't think it will be any time soon I will have need of the type Kittie has.

I am wondering whether to update my First Aid Book, its 10 years old from when I last did my first aid certificate. I have others that deal with accidents outside when camping etc., that never really will go out of date but not sure about the basic one you need for your certificate. Would love to redo my certificate but night schools not doing it any more and its costs so much to do it elsewhere, beyond me now.

guess what guess what guess what!!!!! - husband ordered me a paracord bracelet! It's quite chunky and funky and I am wearing it today at work - not sure I can get used to typing with it on - sitting at my desk keyboard and it feels very odd, but I am chuffed to bits to finally have some paracord about my person :D (not purple tho *pout*) now to fashion a fishing hook from a paperclip and lean out the window into the canal to get lunch ....

:o From a student beach party in the early 1980s.................

Light fire and stick shopping trolley in. Use as BBQ grid.

For the record, thsi was already in place when I arrived at the party, I wasn't personally responsible.

I was responsible for some of the trolley racing in the streets late at night and I would like to apologise to Mr Safeway and the citizenry who woud have been annoyed by us. :o

Mrs L I wouldnt know :) you'd have to be mentally unstable to shove a trolley all the way up here and it would probly take you 6 weeks :rotfl:
  • But MAR you could fill it up with sweeties - bet it wouldn't take you 6 weeks then would it? Oh I dunno it would probably mean many stops for samples wouldn't it? so would probably take longer!!!!!!! If only I couldn't see it in my head - and you think you're bad!!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

Take nothing bigger than a carrier bag up to Mar's, anything bigger and she'd be stuffing RV in it!

You lot make me laugh... I have no clue what the divvil you talk about most the time but you still make me grin ;)

Excellent over the chuffedness of gaining a paracord bracelet - what is it? :o
