I'm pure Celt. Scots Spanish and Irish. And I'm wee, dark, and ratty :D We could start a peasants revolt! REVOLTING PEASANTS R US!

Count me in! I'm short, dark, round & ratty, and a mean hand with a skillet OR a rolling pin!

Mar I'm too busy being a peasant to revolt! got up this morning and one side of the stove door has cracked in half and fallen in.
Is this down to wear and tear or a flaw in the product? Just asking because the glass in my oven door just exploded and shattered one day (when it was switched off). Apparently they do that sometimes
The buildings (because it was built in) insurance paid out. I only wanted a new door and I got a whole new cooker!

    Hi
Would love to join the discussion if that's ok.
Oh and I live on a smallholding in the North Island of New Zealand and have been learning and practising self sufficiency skills for over 20 years so are fairly well placed to cope with most SHTF scenarios.

But am totally confused about GreyQueens comments about mass public revolt, could you please elaborate?

    Welcome Kiwi ::beer:

Sounds like you might be able to give us all some useful tips

pineapple, I think wear and tear. My stove is in 24/7, and this piece of glass has been in for about 4 years, so good going really. It cracked horizontally.

I found a place in Aberdeen to purchase one, £21 including P & P so pleased with that! Considerably less that the £50 I was looking at in lots of places earlier today.

Mine is always on and mine did the same thing. :) Could you fit in a quick revolt after you fitted it then?

hi everyone :) Catching up on so many posts, and getting there slowly :) I just wanted to report that I have been taking the Kelp now for one month this coming Tuesday. I have been feeling so energised and feeling well in myself, and my dh can hardly believe I am the same woman who was slower in movement and in pain. I am able to walk for longer periods and am so amazed that these tiny tablets can change my energy levels so much. Thank you so much to whoever it was who mentioned them, sorry I cannot remember who.
Dh will be cutting back in the garden and son is going to cut the grass later today, and I have been doing a tidy up there too. I do love this time of the year so much. I really enjoyed the walk with our wee dog taking in the trees and falling leaves changing colours peace and contentment is just everything for our mental health, and it is all free. I might even go for a second walk later today:) That will be a first:) Have a nice weekend everyone Margaret x :)
Do a little kindness every day.;)

Aye, have time now if you like? Soup's on and sausage rolls ready for oven - was going to knit for an hour but happy to revolt instead?????

Be a few days until it arrives anyway................:rotfl:

Grinning away here :-) - put the above post into google translate cos i'm nosy - apparently he is a "flemish energy agents chap" - splurted my tea!!!!!!!!!! ah well, little things amuse little minds..............
Puts me in mind of an elderly gentleman I met the other day, who advised he couldn't get to the postoffice for that "chappy yon, offa the telly" - turned out to be Alec Salmond opening a block of flats
  • Can I re-join you preppers, please? Have had a bit of a traumatic summer, poorliness not helping, with shingles and what looks like long-term digestive problems, and lost little doggy to old age, but determined to keep on top of problems, and love reading your opinions/hints/adventures.

Recognise ICP in myself, Mardatha I always wondered why I am like this i.e., but also  and  at times. Need to stop worrying about being so round, and start enjoying having curly hair.

Looking forward to kids going back to school, from a grans point of view, this is when we will have a few nice days out, if weather holds, so I can test out my new [STRIKE]sneaky prepping[/STRIKE] picnic gear.

I see Margaret suggesting kelp - can I ask what kind and how much, I need to do something about energy levels, cant wake up in the mornings, and it will get worse with longer nights.
  • Welcome new people and returnees. Kiwiblue where roughly in the North Island are you? I know parts of it quite well. I've pressed the spam button on daveitiblu's post. I've had a minor SHTF moment this morning with a car accident - I'm a bit bumped and bruised but the car is a write-off. Could have been a lot worse, just a reminder that things happen and often beyond our control. We'll see what the insurers say but I'm sure they will write it off and we'll have to see what cash they offer us. Carless for a few days at least and possibly a week or more so an opportunity to practice for petrol crises by cycling to work. Not cycling today though, too sore :(
  • Afternoon all
I haven't posted on here for ages but I thought I'd just let you know about when the poo hit our fan recently.
Just before school broke up I was rushed into hospital, I was in for a week and even when I came out I was unable to get out of bed.
To list a few of the unexpected expenses.
    Hospital parking, astronomical
    Nightwear, I didn't have any.
Taxi to get home from hospital as there was no warning that I was being released at 9 at night & no-one free to collect me.
Extra food as I was given a specific diet to follow.
Extra electricity for the fan I needed o keep me cool during the heatwave and also for the lights that were on all night as I couldn't sleep.
Extra help around the house as hubby is on shifts and wasn't always around when needed.
Bus fare for hubby, I normally drive us both to work & back.
I'm sure there is more but these are the main ones and it might just help someone else to plan ahead.

    Chin up, Titus out.
