After all, the gov thinks it's OK to have criminals in call-centres* asking Joe Public questions about their valuable possessions.
Honestly, if some stranger phoned you up with such a question, would you divulge the goodies?
That said pineapple hardly does any these days - being a hopeless consumer and therefore a lost cause.I mean how do you answer the question 'how often do you buy washing detergent?' There is never a tick box for 'once every 6 months but enough for 6 months.' I'll bet they think pineapple must be a rather grubby individual who could probably do with the air freshener she never, ever buys :rotfl:

D & DD lovely to have you back, glad that all is well with DS after the operation. Sorry for not posting to you yesterday but in mystification all day as to why a Government Department has decided to post on this particular thread? it just seemed a little odd! Still welcome home and nice to see you, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Blimey I pop in for a chat and see we have a .GOV person posting...should I be scared
Watch out for strangers keeping obs on your veggie patch. And if you should find any men in black at your door - my guess is they won't be Jehovah's Witnesses. :rotfl:0 -
Oh I missed D3, must go back and read
ok didit, nice to see you back once again strong and doing well pet0 -
Well for me it was a salutory reminder that anyone could be pulling up a chair to have a gander. I wouldn't care but my colander is one of those flexible rubbery things. Fat lot of good that'll be at deflecting mind reading X rays ....
Oh dear. I feel like it's all my fault...
No wish to alarm anyone, but, I had to ask the question to DOT, didn't I!
Didn't know they would follow me to this thread directly... Gulp.
Sorry to upset anyone here. I was trying to be helpful, and see what they had out there on-line to help out the ordinary folk.
I see now that I forgot to put on my tin hat, and my paranoid antennae have let me down. WTSHTF they may come and confiscate my tomato plants 'for the greater good!' Ack! Or worse, my emergency chocolate!! Double Ack!! And they may not even ask politely....

BBB no worries!!! You don't need to say sorry to any of us pet, it was a good and sensible idea. If they are only wanting to help then where is the problem in that? Eat the chocolate, you'll feel happier. Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Erm. I was eating the emergency chocolate as I typed. So the beggars won't get that... Now feel sick and duvet is wet where Bacon Bessie drooled on it.
I am now gardening in between rain showers, (I am not concealing my tomato plants behind camo nets) and generally behaving like a normal person; ahem, and tidying the house (not concealing tinned toms and beans in case of confiscation)
and doing all sorts of normal, housewifely things...!
Like counting the [STRIKE]duct tape, tarps, candles[STRIKE] minutes until I go shopping for moisturizers and designer labels, like my 'normal' SIL does...
B*gger that. I can't help it, I am a prepper. Why does it feel like typing this is an AA meeting....?

How's the toes BB ? All healed now I hope I have a fair bit of reading back to do myself so not up to date yet with everyones news, nothing changes does it lol..
I think it's good once in a while for everyone using forums of any sort to remember that anyone can read what we write and it stays in the ether forever too.
Personally I'd bore them all to death with my posts before they considered me a threat I'd like to think but ya never know
Bit wet here this morning but grateful for it as it's been a really dry summer here this year, the crops are loving it but OH is getting a bit fed up of his watering duties (I have struck a deal I plant and weed and he waters..I always get off lightly I think!)
Went for a wander in the garden centres yesterday and struck lucky with Wyevales selling a whole reel of fleece for 2 quid.
Updated my phone with Virgin recently and have impressed myself with how techie I'm becoming, more by luck than judgement!! Downloaded some lovely prepper apps too.Currently annoying the kids with my flashlight app :rotfl:0 -
Oh bu**er my colander is full of blackberries - all foraged from common land of course :rotfl: Its ok I has a spare one. Am sat here now resplendant in my spiffing white enamel colander supping diet coke and pondering - how interesting that our esteemed friends at DOT have answered and supplied info for us concerned tin stashing mortals.
D&DD good news on the dog and the boy and great to hear from you. Hope you are enjoying the weather. Well done on the fleece - bargain! Think there may be more from garden centres as they try and build up the years sales to make the most of a great summer.
I have heirloom tomatoes growing :j does a little dance, difficult as I am armed with a walking stick - hip type pain, in fact all body type pain today, bl**dy Arthur itis. OH is laying down for a while, not doing too good at present but I am pootling along if a little slowly. I also have cucumbers, oh I do hope next year is as fruitful as this one. Next door neighbours daughter keeps loading her Mum up with produce from her lottie and she then passes them over the fence to moi - love it. Her cuc's put me to shame though. Have lost a stone so far - off my tum not out of my engagement ring but now have the problem of loose knickers and yoga pants, will have to take them in as there will be no new ones yet.
Mar that chant is beautiful, just what I needed today as have (as you know) friends with SHTF situations and am exceedingly worried about them. Thank goodness for prepping against monetary worries. Right off to pickle some blackberries and make cucumber jam...erm ...you know what I mean...wanders off tin hat askew....Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0
