Can't imagine it will save much cash for the state. Easy to forget that Greece has been a military dictatorship within the lifetimes of most posters here.0 -

IT HAPPENS NOW: the Greek government decided to close public television with a simple announcement from the government representative Simos Kedikoglou! neoliberal fascists eliminate every democratic process with the false argument of unjustified waste of money at the same time journalists of public TV have been fired, wages have been cut, and no one is researching the big capital establishment which controls the big private media and waste plenty of money at the expense of Greek taxpayers to maintain the propaganda.
Spread this everywhere.

UPDATE: police forces outside the public TV building in Thessaloniki and Patra also!
They are temporarily shutting down the state funded TV station to save money .
It isnt the end of civilisation
..........there are after all plenty of other Tv stations , the world still spins on its axis

Hmmm , so if you are suggesting its a crafty ploy to elbow in a military junta , surely it would make more sense to keep the government controlled station(s) and shut down the stations that wouldnt support this?

No, I'm not suggesting that, just saying it's best to keep an open mind. We're living in strange times (stranger than usual, anyway).0 -
How are you for wildlife for food?
We have a regular population of hares (not fluffy rabbits but huge beasts) coyotes, squirrels, gophers, moose and elk within a 20km radius. Admittedly the squirrels and gophers are small and would take a few to make a stew but needs must.
But I also have a crate of field rations that my son brings home. His unit just wastes whatever they don't use when out in the field. They don't donate them to shelters or anything. So most of the guys bring home various MREs. High fat and easy to prepare. Everything they have is boil in the bag.0
