"I ran out" is probably a substitute for "I'm having some friends round but I haven't asked you".

I must stop reading B&T's posts when I'm supposed to be working :o

I buy the 1.5 litre of London Gin from Asda for £21, I buy it because it works out cheaper than smaller bottles and it lasts me well over a month, that is with visitors too. I have a bottle of Pimms and bottles red and white wine too. I have one gin and tonic or glass of wine probably 4 or 5 nights a week with my dinner and so what, I am a grown adult not a t-total bore.

Alcoholic and teetotallers both have a problem with alcohol, as long as they don't inflict their boring company on me I'm happy.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but t-total bores are harsh. Get a life.

I thought having ONE little drink every evening was a sign of a civilised lifestyle, not that someone was in poor mental health. Jeez, Her Maj must be completely bonkers!

I couldn't agree more. You can come around for dinner any time!
