Can you source missing RM parcels at sorting office w/out SWMY card

Hi all. I recently bought 6 small (in size and value) things from Amazon marketplace sellers. All were purchased on the same day, sent on 26/06 via Royal Mail in separate packages. I have not received ANY of the items which makes me think they've gone missing. I did not receive a 'Sorry we missed you' card to then go and get my items from the sorting office. Also, all items were sent without tracking numbers.
Therefore, I sent a message to the sellers and two have come back and asked if I can get in contact with my local sorting office who can then source the items. Firstly, this is an inconvenience for me as RM's opening hours conflict with my working hours and secondly, can I even go to my local sorting office if I don't have a 'you were out' card? One of the sellers says this:
''Would it be possible for you to make contact with your local sorting office as if a parcel is returned to us as "not called for" we would incur a re-delivery charge and there would be a longer delay in you receiving your order.
If a parcel is not collected within 14 days from the Sorting Office it is returned to us marked NCF (Not Called For) with the dates and times of attempted delivery.''
There's always someone in the house so very, very odd that RM ever attempted to deliver without someone not hearing the doorbell.
I'd appreciate some help with this sticky situation. Many thanks for any and all help.

Phone your delivery office. Most of them are happy to look. I phone DO's all the time if a customer says they haven't received something and most of the time they are there and postie has not left a calling card.
Just goes to show my level of customer service is top notch as I don't ask my customers to do the running around0
