Accidental stop at bus stop

I was shocked to receive a PCN and was scratching my head thinking they had it wrong as I NEVER take any sort of risk. I eventually worked out that I had pulled over to drop a friend in need of at the tube and as the tubes were up the shoot, waited a couple of minutes to make sure he wasn't stranded. I also dropped my glasses which I needed to drive and had to delve under the seat to retrieve them-this also filled the couple of minutes.I had pulled over at the head of a row of parked cars and had no idea I was on the beginning of a bus stop. The actual bus stop was about two bus lengths away so I had no reason to think so. Also, it was nearly 11pm and dark and I didn't see any restriction signs.
I still don't think I was stopped on a bus stop as I can't see from the dark camera pictures although I can see the words written on the road. I am so upset about this as it was a mistake. I have driven back a few times to try to see the road markings and any signs, (no visible signs,) but still can't see in daylight. I can't pull over to look properly as I will get another ticket! £130 or £65 if I pay within 14 days.
It is so stressful-every day when I drive, I worry and worry and re-read signs to make sure I never park illegally and this has happened. Very upset. What to do?

    This is VERY IMPORTANT
any advice can not proceed until this is answered:
Find the Payments section and post up what it says in this bit carefully.

Lets not post up "MOST LIKELY" until we know 100%
many shopping centres, airports, private roads have bus stops.
Once we know, start from that position.
Advice can also be given on this forum as well as it can on Peipipoo.

Apologies for delay-first time I've been on here and didn't realise I had responses. I also have been tied up with an animal rescue all day!

Why don't you use a digital camera to take a photo ? Most mobiles has a camera these days, if there is a macro setting it will take pictures of documents okay. Just scrub your personal info from it

Its very difficult to help without seeing the paperwork, but you need to put in a an informal appeal now
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I am having such trouble with technology at the moment! Is it possible to help me without having to scan or send the paperwork please? My phone has a camera but I don't know where the head is to connect it to my laptop!
In the interim, I emailed the authority to state my case and say that I couldn't see a sign and requested that they send me photographic evidence.
They sent me a blurry photo of a sign on a bus-stop but it was not that bus-stop. It had a shop in the background that is not even there!
I have since been back and found a sign but it is about three bus-lengths away from where I pulled over. When I pulled over, it was in front of a bay of parked cars and I did not dream it was classed as the bus-stop.
The letter also rejected my representations.
I would be so grateful for help-this whole thing is getting me down.

Well you won't be able to get expert help on pepipoo which could have seen you through the whole process. Any thread without pictures would soon fall to page 2 and be forgotten over on that forum.

All I can say is that your PCN was issued by a CCTV camera so you need to read the PCN small print to find out how to see the video footage. The moving footage. Not their carefully-selected pictures. You need to see what they filmed, if it was only a few seconds showing a passenger alighting then you could include in your further appeal that it's trivial (de minimis is the term you can use, a mre trifle that the law should not be concerned with).

However that photo they sent you of another bus stop sign, keep that if they are claiming it relates to that bus stop and if you are certain it does not. You can use that to show the adjudicator that they have misled you; include reference to it in your appeal to PATAS (adjudication).

Because you will probably have to take this to adjudication. The rejection letter will tell you the process. Do not miss the deadline. You are only risking possibly having to pay the penalty itself if you lose, no costs or anything. And you pay nothing if you win of course!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Posting the images of the ticket is vital, without being able to see it its like playing football blindfold. Your choice is a small effort in working out how to post them, or buckling and paying up. You have to be prepared to make the effort to stand up and fight, if you do nothing you lose.

You shouldnt need to connect the camera, just take a pic and email it to yourself at an email address you use on the internet. Or even take a pic using the facebook app and then copy and paste the pic from facebook. There are many ways to get a pic from your phone without connecting it by the lead.

If not try and find someone to take a pic/scan for you. I cant stress how important it is to get a copy of the ticket for people to look at.

Once you have got a pic/scan post it on the pepipoo forum and they will help you with your appeal.
