true, perhaps it just annoys me when people insist they want to peruse a claim when its either ancient old, or not evan sure they had PPI let alone were mis-sold it, or both in this case!
each to their own i suppose!0 -
Persuing an old claim is still a persons entitlement, I'm quite surprised by the narrow minded views expressed here. Many people would also not been aware that they had ppi, I was one of these and actually had cause to claim on the ppi on the Access card!, I was made redundant in 1992 and contacted Access, they were very unhelpful stating that I would need to pay the minimum each month, so I went to Citizens Advice who sorted it all out - turned out there was ppi on my card which actually covered my monthly payments, but I had to get the CAB to sort it out, sometimes customers are treated as small fry, it takes bigger fish with more clout to help us out. Also my mortgage with Nationwide which is now paid off ran from 1988 to 2005 Nationwide wrote me 2 A4 sized pages basically saying no they were not liable, so I ignored this and went to the Ombudsman, who actually laughed when I told them what Nationwide had said, basically the Ombudsman advised that my case has probably worried them as its going to be a big claim! - so advice to all would be dont listen to anyone who tells you not to claim as its too long ago or that you probably didnt have ppi, if you had an account, card, mortgage then you most likely paid on a ppi, so many establishments wouldnt have approved lending without what they regarded as a safety net for them.0

In that case, you have lost two grounds for complaint.
You clearly cannot claim you did not know you had it, and a successful claim demonstrates a need.
Credit Card PPI is by monthly premium in all cases - so the single premium (frontloaded) complaint never applies to it.
And there is still the issue of no surviving records. It is probably not possible to show that you ever had an account now - let alone how much you might have paid in PPI premiums.0 -

Years ago I had an Access card, it must have been back in the early 1990's, I know that the Access card was introduced to compete with Visa and has I believe now been taken over by Mastercard but I'm not 100% sure.
Thing is, I dont know where to send an application to claim back missold ppi on my old credit card, does anyone here know of a UK address for Access or as its now known Mastercard please?:D xx0 -

Access was issued by a number of banks. It is the bank that issued it that has liability. Not Access itself.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
