Although my bf has demanded the bedroom is cat free for a whileso they sleep on the step by the bedroom waiting for the alarms to go off and me to let them in for a bit.
Hmm, BF vs cats... I know who I'd choose.
My OH had never had a pet in his life before he moved in with me and I let him stay only after I explained to him that the cats were there first and he just had to fall in with our lives - there was no way I would have had it any other way. Cats are too important to me to compromise... it's lasted 18 years so he can't be that upset about it :rotfl:.
Back to sleeping arrangements - like everyone else - my cats sleep wherever takes their fancy. Normally, at the bottom of the bed or in the middle between our pillows.:hello:0 -
One of our cats almost always sleeps on our bed, the other sleeps on the stairs up to DS's room or on the bed in the spare bedroom, we've just picked up a rescue cat today, so will be interesting to see where she decides to have her snoozes :j0

Our cats and dog are confined to the kitchen and "out the back" with access to the garden if they want it. No cats and dogs in bedrooms here. Suspect Phoebe sleeps in the radiator bed and Rolo is out hunting. Dog has a blanket on the floor (well, a selection actually!)0

from the time he could manage to climb up and down the stairs and jump onto the bed, my cat has slept on someone's bed (usually mine, and he usually starts the night at the bottom of the bed and by next morning he's next to me right underneath the pillow level). Occasionally as a kitten he'd sleep at the top of the pillow, above my head.
He did have his own cat bed when we first got him, but he never even plonked his butt on it, never mind slept on it :rotfl:.0 -
usually in her basket in the lounge...but when its cold i often find her at my feet at the bottom of my bed, if the fire is lit, shes infront of the fire!0

My cat sleeps anywhere - quite literally.
But her favourite places are - on my head, on my pillow - usually with a paw in my face:rotfl:she also loves a bag for life carrier bag which shes taken to sleeping on (not in!) but we try and prevent that where possible due to the rustling all night...she will just walk along and then fall asleep in middle of the floor sometimes too (1st time she did it, i thought she collasped.) But her favourite place is on my husbands lapor on top of our lizards tank - as its so warm up their.

Jerry Cat lies with me like a human, head on the pillow usually, looming at me - and has, on occasion, moved me to the other side so far that I've had to get out and get back in the original side again. So spoilt. We bought a sofa several months back which has been covered with a cat-throw ever since so he can lie on that too.
Lottie sometimes gets on the top floor bed or very occasionally, when she's feeling brave around Jerry, gets on my bed. She also likes the bottom of my wardrobe.
They do sometimes go through a little love affair with their furry basket - but it's extremely rare. Once ever couple of years one will make a claim on it and barely leave it for around 3 weeks. Jerry liked it when he was really ill last year.
Do occasionally find them sleeping in the bath. You can trust a cat to find the coolest spot when it's hot and vice versa. Scared the bejesus outa me before when I've used the loo in the middle of the night in half-darkness. These reflective eyes suddenly peer up from inside the bath! Arghhh!

Loved all your stories - glad it's not just me who lets my cats sleep on the bed.
I sleep on my side and Jinks likes to sleep in the space by my stomach, preferably up against me. However if she's not first up to bed with me she will sleep by my feet, Onyx can bully her out of the way.
Onyx likes to sleep where my feet normally go, so I end up moving! Before I go to sleep I lay on my side reading, and he likes to sit on my side, once I move to turn the light out he moves down the end.
I still haven't worked out why I own a super king sized bed, yet end up sleeping in a 2 feet width of it so I don't disturb the cats?
Onyx is one of those cats that falls asleep completely. The funniest one was when he was asleep on the back of the sofa and fell fully asleep only to fall off the sofa. He wandered out from behind as if to say "I meant to do that"Nil Illegitimi desperandum carborundum
