Hi Folks,
Well I think it is safe to say I have not done much gardening recently :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
To be fair, with Christmas around the corner, things have been on hold recently.
I have managed another £146.85 off my debt, but I think that is it for November.

Hi Folks,
Nothing really to report today, I managed a NSD yesterday, but I don't know how many I will manage in the coming month, with the build up to Christmas.
I have bought no presents yet, I need to get my skates on.
I did make a lovely Marmalade Loaf last night, it was really nice. I will try and put the recipe up later, and maybe put a picture up on my gardening blog. I was actually thinking about the gardening blog, I may change the name for the new year and turn it into the self sufficient blog, as next year I would really like to start becoming more self sufficent all round. I will see what I can do.

MF - I would love the recipe for the marmalade loaf if you have the time to post it.
Liking the sound of the self sufficiency - did you ever watch The Good Life (although I think you are a lot younger than me)!!!Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -

Hi MrsP,
I did watch the good life, but when it repeated in the 80s. lol. It was very funny though. I also liked Fawlty Towers

Right here we go
Marmalade Cake
100g (4oz) of butter
50g (20z) light brown sugar
2 eggs
275g (10oz) self raising flour
8ml (1 and a half tsp) ground ginger)
105ml (7 tbsp) orange marmalade
45ml (3 tbsp) milk
1) Cream together the butter and the sugar
2) Beat in the eggs gradually
3) Fold in the sieved flour and ginger
4) Stir in the marmalade and the milk
5) Then if you have a bread maker, remove the kneading knife from the bread pan and line the bottom and sides with baking parchment or if using an oven line bottom and sides of a loaf tin with parchment
6) Place mixture into the bread pan or oven, being careful to ensure that the mixture is inside the baking parchment.
7) Select bake only program on breadmaker and enter 45 minutes or in oven leave for 30-45 minutes, depending on type of oven
8) After baking test with skewer to see if the cake is cooked. If the cake does require extra time, select the bake only program again and enter a further 3-5 minutes on the timer. If baking in oven leave for a further 3-5 minutes. If it is just slightly sticky inside this will cook through during the stand period
9) Take the bread pan out of bread maker or tin out of oven and leav to stand for 10-15 minutes before removing from bread pan or oven loaf tin and allow to cool
Enjoy
