Check the runout stripes on your new tyres (the red or blue lines).

They should balance the tyres after they have been fitted, if your tracking is out then they will charge to fix that. About £25 or so for front tracking at Kwik fit i think, you should have your tracking checked yearly anyway really.

I was charged balancing when they fitted the tyres, so that was done. Thanks.

As above, air's mostly nitrogen anyway, so it's not going to cause any harm. It's just one of those things that tyre places like to selll as an extra to make more money (you wouldn't beleive how many tyres you can fill at a couple of quid a time out of a cylinder of N2, or how cheap it is to get on account).

I personally have heard enough  stories to avoid Kwik Fit, so if you do go back to them for it to be rectified, watch out for them trying to sell you something else.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

Sorry for double posting, but could the Nitrogen only being in the back tyres and not the front cause problems also?

My money's on the kwik fit numptey's jacking your car up on one of the alignment components and have now bent it.

Did they use trolley jacks or a 2/4 post lift?

I don't personally think so. Looking back at your original post (and the fact that I missed over the point that it was back tyres you got fitted) I'm in favour of wheel balance being the problem or a faulty tyre. It is still possible that you have faulty alignment as well which worsens the problem but these things are easily checked and not expensive to fix, especially if you've already paid for them - like wheel balance. I wouldn't be in the slightest bit concerned about Kwik Fit trying to "upsell" you. Those days are gone. Just pop your car back down and tell them what's happening and my guess is that less than 30 minutes later you'll be driving your car home very satisified.

Just don't put it off because as trivial as these little jobs are they can do damage to your car over quite a short period of time.

A little clueless when it comes to cars! Had two rear tyres replaced on my Ford KA at Kwik-Fit, plus balancing and filled with nitrogen. (I think!)

Now though, my car is pulling like i;m being buffered by the wind at speed. I usually use the car to commute in London so it was a few weeks before I noticed. Could it be the tracking or something worse?

    Any help appreciated!
OMG you paid them to pump your tires with air?????? air is 90 somthing nitrogen (N) also how can the pump 100% N your tires will have some air which will dilute the N. so unles the put your wheel in a sealed box and vaccum out the o2 your paying for air maybe mr kwik fit will make an apperence.........

The car needs aligning. Also filling tyres with nitrogen is not a good idea, as the nitrogen reacts with the rubber and the tyres then lose pressure.
Wrong, nitrogen is used in motorsport as it is more stable then air last time I looked the rubber used is more or less the same bar some secrete ingredients

There is no Mr Kwik Fit anymore. That was Tom Farmer and he sold the business many years ago.
