Ryanair Spanish Tax - impossible to claim refund

I and my partner received emails confirming that we have until 13 July to request a refund or they will debit more money from us for flights pre-purchased. We want to cancel flights and claim refund yet the link to the website offers three options - none of which is pertinent to the tax issue. I am concerned that if I request refund based on one of the options they will fudge it and find a reason not to refund. When I call them, they say "due to volume of calls we cannot process this call" and cut you off. How can I cancel the flight and claim a full refund?

Hiya I also received this email today - I checked online and the taxes are only around 2 euros each, is that what you're seeing as well?

The tax is a tiny amount and it still makes for a very cheap flight.

Maybe the OP wanted to cancel anyway and the option that the departure tax has opened up has given them a way out without financial penalty?

I am looking to claim a refund back on my flight after receiving the email, but noticed the same issue that there is no reason in the drop down box for this.
Has anyone been called the helpline and heard anything from Ryanair at all?

forgive me if I'm wrong, but guessing nearly everyone will have booked it as a return flight,
but are they not processed as 2 singles anyway and you won't be able to cancel your outbound flight?
think mines only around £5 for the 3 of us

I too have recieved this email, and actually no longer need the flights to spain, so this would be wonderful if we can find a way of cancelling the flights. Anyone had any luck? The 3 options avaliable are totally useless!

Yes I want to cancel a flight of mine too.
Tried calling the expensive customer services line but you just sit on hold for ages.
Anyone heard anything?

I phoned them up and got through after 3 minutes, just press 1, I advised that I chose the option of "flight change schedule" and there was no option to choose cancel because of the tax thing and he confirmed via a supervisor that as long as you select one of the options it will be processed and will get the refund in 7 working days.
He said mines is in a big queue waiting but the process has started.

ive just recieved an email from Ryaniar stating that they have procesed my full refund and I will get it in 5-7 working days using the card I paid with.

Has anyone else got this email? Its good to see they are acting fast on this considering 13th is round the corner!
